Just remember you need to have the uni weld handle, I tried a Victor they said would work but I kept having backfires because the oxygen and acetylene was mixing in the handle
Great Video Thank you! The People who criticize Never make their own videos I Call them Libtards! They always Point out others mistakes while they do nothing. Where are their video's? Never Let Them get to you 99% Love your video's,. HVAC Tech 10 years +, GOD BLESS!!! GOD WINS!!!
Just woke up, made a cup of coffee, and watching your video.. Big thanks, i love your rants because then i know I'm not the only one who feels like this.. Makes my hole day Rick. When I'm forced to work on equipment like this I right a hole A4 page explaining why the complet setup have to be changed, because you know they will blame you when that turd dont work in a month's time. Keep up the good work.
I’ve been using the Knipex for years. They are the best. People just don’t realize all the different tools we have available to us. Spend a lot of money on tools.
Wish i had that hook torch last week i did a city multi unit 8 ton all outside air ceiling unit with 7/8" suction had to use 2 torches to get it hot enough fast so i could braze my lines. but hey it worked.
The hooks not that expensive, but you gotta have the matching handle for it to work correctly. Just a heads up, people will say it’ll work with a Victor torch, and that’s what I had prior to, and I had all kinds of problems with the oxygen and a settling mixing in the handle.
Hay I love the Capt hook 5 flame at 1st I didn't care to much but after a bit of using it I love it now one thing you must keep in mind is run the hook with higher pressure or else the Capt hook will clog and the for flames will disappear
"Rant Time"🤣 I'll say it again:, Knipex are fantastic tools. Very versatile, can re-round obrounded pipes easily. The detractors are always in these comments. Good work.
That's '' snot '' a bad brazing job at all 😂 I think you should rant more as it keeps your system cleaned out ... Great job by the way ... Hey to Lora ...
Excellent video Rick. Stop paying attention to the idiots that have never used the pliers wrench and don’t know how awesome they are. Those guys don’t matter anyway. 👍
I have to say man, been watching your stuff for a while now and you put out some great refrigeration content. I was first introduced to those Knipex wrench pliers thru your videos and I went and got me a pair of the 10 inch ones and those things are THE ABSOLUTE SHIT! So screw anyone giving you crap, I haven’t met a job yet where they’ve let me down, and I deal with some nasty stuff. 11/10 would recommend to pretty much any kind of mechanic or tradesman.
I'm going to tag on the other guy and add my love for Knipex too. I have 3 different sizes like you showed that replace literally everything I used to use. My ultra mini lives in my pocket and is absolutely clutch for 1/4" caps and loosening packing nuts. Great video Rick! I've never come across a Bohnmizer setup but I'll be saving this one for future reference. Appreciate everything you do and all the hard work you put into your content! Please don't stop haha.
Thanks, I think this is the most time I spent on cutting down a video. I've been experimenting with different cameras and computers and it's just been a total nightmare.
I absolutely love those plier wrenches. I use mine about every day. And they can take a lot of pressure. I've about out all my weight on mine (and it didn't slip or round). Knipex makes top notch shitm
Great video, good to know how black that was even without a burnout. I actually found out about those pliers from watching your videos got me a set and their great I use the heck out of them
Amazing how at trade shows your asked for feedback like making the stubs on filter driers longer and six months later there shorter. You see that makes the box they come in shorter which means more room to fill seaboard container.
I didn't mean for it to be a thorough description of how to do it but it kind of turned out that way. I really want to start making the channel more entertaining but this one is very descriptive and very long. This was over 2 hours originally and took all day to cut down. I made a big mistake recording for long durations, I should have done it like I normally do.
Hey Rick Love your rants btw. Spot on in my book. Glad to hear i am not the only only that thinks this about this manufacturer's drier. But some bean counter at the home office said we can SAVE... if we only put a 1/4 of copper. 🤣
Knipex designed those pliers specifically to NOT round things off. Anyone who says otherwise has most likely never seen a pair. Just a random RU-vid commenter whose mother needs to watch him more closely than she has. I wouldn't worry.
First time I encountered the Bohnmizer TXV was in the mid 70's about midnight on a Red Lobster walk-in R-12. I thought it needed head pressure control as it was about 25 degrees outside. Researched it and came back the next day. I can't remember what the actual fix was.
Just signed up and wow great video with lots of information. Just ignore / block the trolls as all they do all day if go from video to video saying anything they can to cause drama. Can't wait for the next video. :)
I respect your tools 110%. I actually bought a couple of tools for my jobs thanks to you. I enjoy your videos a lot. And yes I did subscribe to your videos. Thank you so much for your knowledge
instead of wet paper/rag by itself, I usually wrap a bit of aluminum foil around the stuff I want to protect, I stick the wet paper towel under the foil. The foil reflects the heat away from the wet paper towel or rag back towards the joint I'm making....and I can throw the foil away when done, but the rag can be reused (usually). Anyway, I'm not so worried about close burnable or electrical stuff in the vicinity....
Oil looks like the way you like your ☕ or the way mrs. Douglas makes it I don't know which case it is! Once again you did a wonderful job keep up the great work the world needs you 🐱 you even admitted you're wrong when your wrong around your wife and kids I would bet my bottom dollar
It kind of depends on the tip. But on average, I’ll run somewhere around 8 to 10 on oxygen and about the same on the acetylene. Technically, I probably don’t do it right because I throttle with my valve on my handle.
👍🇺🇸❄️🙏 great vid. ?’s What would b considered a good color when oil is Removed ? N fan cycle switch is used if unit is outside with no headmaster, correct?
More of a yellow to clear. This system doesn't use a headmaster or fan cycle switch normally. But they added the fan cycle for a solution to a problem. Not sure what the program was. The bohnmiser txv is able to adjust faster because the bulb is in the refrigerant, not just strapped to the suction.
Imagine if the mechanic told you to buy a new car every time you took it in for something. An hvac company tried to get my brother to replace his unit for a $90 gas valve because “something else will break next”
I've been debating on getting a knockoff pliers wrench - mostly for hose clamps. I likely won't use them for nuts and bolts - because I have a roll of wrenches that I use for those. (Okay, I'm strange. I won't use sockets for a lot of things, because .. well, moving parts - and those don't like hammers much.)
If they ain’t replacing, then the repair ticket ain’t high enough. Lotta shit for you man. I hope they made it worth your while at least. Hell of a job. Wtf was that attachment for the impact? That’s nifty as all hell!
Got that same Vacuum Pump branded "Value", barely ever use it because of the short battery life, even tho Makita ones work with it. Those pliers are pretty good, are the "Knipex"?
Captain hook,. Mtf5 , here's my associate link if you want to help support the channel you still pay the same money. This has five flames uni world has the same version with as many as 17 flames I can get those links put in the description area. amzn.to/3kd77bb
@@HVACRSurvival I just bought the 2 cfm one and trublu hoses. I’ve used it three times and so far so good. They accidentally sent me an extra battery for some reason so I’m loving it.
I'm an automotive mechanic, not an HVAC technician, but I feel like people who complain about using pliers on bolts or even using them to beat on things instead of a hammer just don't know what they're talking about. If you are opening and closing your pliers then you're not going to round a bolt out, and if you did then that bolt was weak to start with. And anything makes a good hammer lol.
@@HVACRSurvival Thanks! I'm 26, but I was raised by my grandparents so maybe they taught me to be a little more practical! I've been loving watching your videos.
Did Rick get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I loved your rant though. Have you taken the pliers wrench, and laid it on top of an open end adjustable wrench, (cresent wrench)? I can see an advantage with the pliers wrench. The tighter you grip the handles the tighter it will grip the nut. There is slop in the cresent wrench and that is where you will round the edges of the nut. In all this work the electrical circuit is my weak point. Do you have any suggestions who has a program that starts with a simple circuit and then builds from there? I don't have a problem working with electrical. Thank you for all your videos.
Depending on what it is you want to learn about electrical, I would jump over to one of the electrician channels, electrician University I believe is the guy's name, he's really good, and then there's an electronics guy that I really like watching, I think he is EEB. I watch a mix of both and pick what you need. Electrical is one of my stronger suits, I knew that before I knew HVACR
I got it on Amazon, this is a Milwaukee to Makita adapter, but you will have to modify it with your Dremel tool. Not real hard, but not perfect, but works.
Out of all my colleagues I'm the only one using the plier-wrench . Part of it because its my own and Mr bossman won't buy 'em for us , but some guys see 'em and start hating on 'em just because they don't know how to use 'em . The same guys will then use a Philips on a Pozy screw and F it upto the point where it's now unusable 🤣
Good job Rick, Batman and Iron Man use the paper towel, Spider Man and the Hulk use the copyright Wet Rag, Just kidding, Duh?, I think your pliers are great, I think maybe you have too many tools, Your a celebrity Rick on You Tube, Didn't you read the fine print, these things happen, Just kidding again, Good job.
I wish I was a celebrity, at least for a day or two. I'm starting to think not that many people that watch me are actually technicians, I think most of them are just homeowners that are curious. Oh well, whatever 😉
Well that would really depend on a couple things. If it would have been cheaper they would have gone with that don't you think since it was quoted both ways.
Yeah I remember refrigeration mentor talking about that black crap on the top of the heads, I'm curious to see what the actual damage is, it's probably just busted valves
Pocket/Socket/Stem/Etc. Easier to say "male/female." They could also make the brazing of filter driers a ton easier if they made the female stub longer than 1/2".
You are right sir but after sytem not work properly we face this problem so many time now we flsh the all system when we replace the any type of compressor
