Quite a bizarre review. Yes, we get it that you’re old and out of shape, so would rather drive around in a “practical” car, with easy access etc. Why bother reviewing a focused sports car? Stick to reviewing Mondeo’s and the like.
Actually, it does have a boot, a parcel shelf behind the seats, drink/phone holder between the seats and can be optioned with things like cruise control etc :-) We have lots of our owners using them as daily drivers as well as track cars.
Disagree. I think this was an honest review that will actually be more helpful to people than indulging in the same tired old platitudes. A lot of people won't want something this raw. What they truly want is a Cayman.
@@MrGB1999 Well, he's definitely giving us his opinion, and he's right. It's not for everyone. Most people would want a sports car this blain inside and would probably prefer a Porsche. I love Lotus cars and their design. However, for the money you pay, you have many options.
@@MrGB1999 Yes. There were a awful lot of positive points in this review. Two types of Exige review exist. 1. screaming that it's life changing. 2.complaining it isn't as good as a Porsche because you can't use it every day. I do feel this guy went a bit far with the 'trials' of ownership. He could move the seat back to get in if he wanted, it's not that noisy when cruising, the seats are actually really comfortable despite being thinly padded, the suspension is alchemy/magical with grip and compliance, and you may rub a shoulder occasionally with a passenger, but you ain't sharing bodily fluids! I'd pick a 350 to do a long journey over my wife's BMW with M suspension!
Try to see it as a backhanded compliment ... I'm on my third and looking forward soon I hope to my fourth and wouldn't have anything else, but he's right that it isn't for everybody ... just for the chosen few who have this Lotus passion and that is already a privilege in itself! Getting passionate about something isn't for everybody ...alas!
Ridiculous review. I lived with an elises and Exige for years. I’m fat and 50 and I still got in ad well because I put the damn seat back, I didn’t leave it forward so I could make a meal out of it. I drove the 350 the other day, in anger. A STUNNING experience which I preferred to the the F430 and 911 Turbo. Exige 350 8.9/10. 380 even more.
Simply Sports Cars I drove the 350 F430 and 911 on an experience day at www.experiencemegastore.com on their Triple Supercar blast The car was insanely good fun, and I say that as someone who had an Exige. The V6 350 is barmy
I love the lotus exige sport 350 hope to own one of these cars one day, and modify it. One more thing don't be offended by this guys review clearly his suffering from concussion from all the time he crashed his toyota prius into his other toyota prius.😂😂😂
He's right ... Lotuses are not for everyone! That does indeed make them very exclusive! I have put this one on the top of my shopping list ... which would make it the fourth Lotus I have had the pleasure of enjoying since the bug bit me when seeing Jim Clark racing and winning at Brands Hatch. My Lotus 6 is still being lovingly cared for by someone probably racing her. LJG 919 I acquired second hand as my very first car and you will find her on the internet with this original registration number.
I had an lotus s2 and now shopping for a second hand v6, never had any trouble getting in and out, literaly took me three tries to get it perfected, don't know what the fuzz is about, even fat people can get in and out easy, being bigger than 6ft2, 6ft3 it's becoming hard.
Not for everyone. Exactly, thats the appeal! It has a purity of purpose. Did you expect to experience a luxurious lexus? It's a track weapon that's road legal and it's thrilling. Unlike many of its competitors, the Lotus is also super reliable.
Hang on, you mean a stripped out track day car ISNT as comfortable as say a comfy GT cruiser? Well i'm shocked. Thank you for your reassuring review. I was going to buy one but I think i'll go for a Toyota Prius instead now.
This is the kind of car you want when you were young and when you working so hard and getting older and can finally buy one, you are too old to get in and out of it. I need one.
Thank you. Not enough quality videos like this video. Which describes the difficult/annoying things. I was hoping it was roomier like the Evora s or evora 400. Too bad one can’t have all the performance attributes yet easier in/out as you mention. Is the exige 410 any roomier? Probably not. Love to know - if your know Thanks Mike
The difficult ingress/egress is definitely something to worry about in the event of an emergency. If something catches fire on the track, your goose is cooked- literally. I hope that's something they improve for the next gen.
Hi Ariel, we have lots of our owners who do regular track days in Elise & Exige of various generations, with race harnesses and we haven't experienced that type of issue. Typically once you own one you craft your own way of getting in and out. Many simply push the seat back and step out. The Evora range has lower side sills.
What about trying to put your arse on the sill then swing both legs around into the foot well then bring said butt on to the seat,to get out reverse procedure 😊
Do really want this guy to review lotus's or eny car for that matter clearly his suffering from concussion from all the time he crashed his toyota prius into his other toyota prius.😂
Great to see your quality reviews on paper translate on video, just as well. Except for all that rattling in the first driving scenes. Next time, it's highly recommended not driving with the rear hatch open ;)
Lets hope Stephen Corby has moved on from reviewing performance cars. This was honestly an awful review. Assessing a focused track car from a practical and comfort perspective would be the same as criticising a base model Corolla for performing poorly around a race track. Poor effort here.
It's actually fairly simple, especially if you own one, you craft your own way of getting in and out that suits. We have many owners who are tall and various ages who use them regularly, including track days and the like.
This car was designed for Asian teenagers. It's stupid to make comments like 'it's small' or 'there's not much space in here' because you're 6 feet+. I've seen 14 year olds get in and out of the car without any issue. Once you reach 20 or more this car is not suitable for you but you can always resort to Ferrari or a Lamborghini since they can accommodate bigger people.
Hi Ken, we have lots of our owners who are various shapes, sizes, ages & nationality using Lotus sports cars for daily drivers who also do many of our track days. Typically once you own one you craft your own way of getting in and out. Many simply push the seat back and step out. The Evora range has lower side sills similar to a Ferrari, Porsche or other sports cars.
