Lou Ambers is so underrated that it's sad. He is one of the greatest lightweights of all time and do you know why? Bruh, he beat two ATGs in lightweight bosses Tony Canzoneri and Henry Armstrong and many people don't include Ambers in their top 10 Lightweights list. How sad!

Lou Ambers was a amazing fighter and his fight against Tony Canzoneri was a classic.

Ambers was an underrated lightweight who held wins over 2 all-time greats and two of my favorite fighters, Tony Canzoneri and Henry Armstrong. Ambers was outclassed against Canzoneri in their 1st fight (one of the fights in this video), but Ambers came back to beat Tony twice. Ambers would later go on to lose a split decision to Armstrong, but Lou was able to regain his lightweight crown from Hammerin’ Hank in their rematch. Speaking honestly, I thought that Armstrong deserved to win the rematch. However, Henry was penalized 4 or 5 rounds due to low blows. Even still, I thought Armstrong overwhelmed Ambers to at worst take a razor-thin decision. HOWEVER, to Ambers’ credit, his style boxing style and movement gave Armstrong fits at times, and Lou did have just enough success, coupled with good fortune, to ARGUABLY take a close win.
