There's something special about zakk wylde's solo that you can't ignore. I will always prefer the original to a cover because the original is the real deal. But Zakk's solo elicited and emotion in me that the original did not. That's why I love this version as much as the original, almost. Jimmy page will always be the king.
Hmmm, interesting. James Kottak was in a Kentucky based metal band called BUSTER BROWN with Gramms first replacement singer Johnny Edwards . Years later after regrouping Buster BROWN changed their name to WILD HORSES and they were immediately signed to Atlantic records in 1990 upon signing Foreigners Mick Jones heard their demo and talked Edwards (who turned Jones down at first) into joining Foreigner in June 1990. The result 👉 UNUSUAL HEAT (1991) FOREIGNERS first album without Lou Gramm and Atlantic records last full Foreigner studio album. 😮😮😮😮 8:20
It is Lou, the reason I searched to listen to this was from and interview that I was just listening to and he was talking about this. They were just messing around and it turned out so well they recorded it.
Not bad, but to me it sounds like the master mix hasn't been very accurate. rythm guitar and drums are a little bit too loud compared with lead guitar and voice. The lightness and brightness of the original is missing. Where the original sounds like standing on a misty meadow in the morning light, this version is more like standing in front of the bar after a rough night... Only my impressions.
