@@digressed nah its like 10s of millions since its the main sport of Australia but for Rugby league its like hundreds of thousands since its no way near as big as afl.
I've never known a stadium to be vibrating the way the SCG was in that final against Geelong. The whole ground was vibrating! You can see the effects on the camera when it zooms on the goal ump signal - the shaking camera was literally the vibrations from the whole crowd jumping and carrying on! I was in the Brewongle concourse (near the wing) and even the solid concrete on ground level was reverberating in a way that even the mighty MCG doesn't with more than double the crowd. Purely breathtaking!
Me too.. and sitting on the wing where Walla kicked that goal I just knew with him in the vicinity something magical was about to happen.. Wow.. I was up & dragged mum to her feet also and it was one of my most favourite footy moments...the crowd was deafening.
Fitting that they ended with Nick Davis 4th last quarter goal to get the Swans home....the day 45,000 SCG fans made more noise than 100,000 at the MCG! One of the best nights of my life!
Dan Butler goal and the Kane Lambert goal from the 1st quarter of the 2017 prelim are 2 of some the loudest roars I have ever heard. My hearing probably took a toll that night. Tigers vs Eagles was also very loud, considering only 57k people were there
I was at both the Preliminary Final and the Grand Final in 2017 and even though I was 12 at the time, I can say that those 2 games are probably the loudest games that I have ever been to so far.
I’ve been to 6 of the 7 finals Richmond played at the G from 2017-2019 and that Prelim was by far the loudest game I’ve ever been to. Was insane how loud it was
The place went berserk on that Nick Davis goal. Also Justin Longmuir and Jordan Dawson after the siren (not featured here). The St Kilda vs Brisbane game in 2004 was insane!
Without doubt the loudest is Zaharakis on ANZAC Day at the ‘G. 100k fans, no corporates or neutral attendees like grand final day. Unadulterated passion. Other grounds simply not in same league as the ‘G at full capacity.
Idk man, I was at the Richmond GWs Prelim and that shit was insane. 95% were richmond fans cause of GWS being a new club, so those cheers were off their nut.
I remember the mccarthy mark at the Gabba. Truly an exciting time where we all started to feel that the lions were finally a real team and could do anything. Was almost as good as the Ash Mcgrath goal from years back. Special times.
Essendon fans loudest by far if they get to the top again my god, non biassed view, essendon vs Adelaide 93 preliminary final my ear where cooked, the 2000 premiership , but zackas goal Anzac day beats everything, and butlers goal in the pre lim up there
When richmond beat hawthorn in 2013 there was a huge roar, and the “yellow and black” was maybe the biggest it’s ever been. That was the day they stepped up into contention. Took them a few more years to get it together but they’d sealed their drought breaking finals appearance that day
firstly, the afl started in 1990, i think you mean Australian Football... secondly, like you, im a Melbourne fan. We are the oldest in Australia and 3rd oldest sporting association (excl university teams) in the world. I was referring to our club (judging by your Pickett pfp)@@InnocentComeng
Would be cool if there was a decibel reading during the game and every time something crazy happened they would show how loud the crowd got! Would be cool to see
Same it was amazing there was like 2 k gws fans and 96 k Richmond fans and a gws fan was walking bast the food place abs he got booed at so much he was the only he’s supporter down our end
As a Adelaide supporter I felt like I got smashed as Rocca launched the most almighty of torps after he marked on the lead, ran back to the centre square and had one thing in his mind, everyone at the MCG including us Adelaide supporters knew exactly what was happening. Everyone took that game very personally but the Collingwood supporters celebrated too early, they went down in the GF the week after. But they were great to watch (when not playing against Adelaide of course). The rest of the decade Collingwood were our bogey team, we could never beat them in the crucial games. Same with West Coast. But even if that 2002PF was at Football park, we still would have stood no chance. They actually won a qualifying final at Football park 15 days before against Port and I enjoyed that hehe.
I was supposed to go to this game but my dad said he didn’t feel like going. I am REALLY happy that I didn’t end up going to this game, otherwise I would’ve probably been attacked by filthy Colliwobbles supporters and made fun of by my Collingwood friends the following Monday, which did end up happening.
At Richmond vs West Coast in 2019, Riewoldt kicked the winner with 4 minutes left and those 4 minutes were loud as all hell. I also went to the game where Sam Lloyd kicked a goal after the siren, that was something The first game I said is there
As a swans fan 2005 was an epic fairytale year. A bunch of rejects no one wanted break a 72 year premiership drought. How have they not made a movie about this yet?! … oh wait, they have - every ridiculous unrealistic bullshi Hollywood rubbish sports team film ever made. That’s why Huddo couldn’t believe it. It was a ludicrous year that will never be topped.
@@benbraden3244 us Richmond fans still hold the decibel record for an AFL match. Collingwood fans are the only other fanbase that has come close to reaching the 126db record that was set after Butler's goal in the 2017 prelim
