He's an underrated genius, really. I tried half of my 1rm and added on 20-25 percent of that weight in bands additionally. Doing sets of three, coming up fast, and lowering more quickly than I would have without the bands, it really is a trial. Seven sets of that and you're pretty much done. Going to a regular bar without bands for a final 15 rep set, the weights and bar literally feel like they're being pulled up off my shoulders for the first 4 reps or so in the top 3rd of the movement. It's damn weird, but it works.
