not to defend Fallon, but Louie and Conan have been friends for almost 30 years. Louie was ready to quit comedy when everybody working at a club except him got hired to SNL. Luckily, Robert Smigel (Triumph) asked him to write for Conan's new Late Night show and the rest is history.

Keep in mind, Joe Pesci also thought leaving acting to focus on a "singing" career was a good idea. And he also was bummed that he didn't get to star as one of the characters in 2018's Gotti film, so much so that he was hesitant and rejected several offers to do Scorsese's The Irishman. So, can you really trust that opinion?

To be fair, when Pesci was cast in Gotti the entire production was entirely different. It was in like 2012, six years before the film was actually made, and by different people than the ones that were gonna be involved originally.

That shows one thing: no matter who you are and no matter who's telling you that you won't succeed in your dreams, you just can. Always. Look at Louis' eyes: he knows what he loves the most and what he lives for - comedy, in its rawest essence. He passed throughout 30 years of not being famous and rich. He could've left. He never did. That makes him an example of what working hard and believing and yourself could do. No matter who's telling you that you won't make it - prove them wrong. That is what I am living for: prove them wrong. Thank you, Louie, if you’ll ever going to read this.

in my opinion, and this is a pretty darn good opinion, i think louis c k kinda reminds me of how george carlin was doing his routines, louis is a nice comedian pretty much like how george carlin was yet, i think he could try being in comedies that aimed toward the children's / family audiences much like how carlin was in bill and ted's excellent adventure as rufus, louis would be a wonderful rufus in a bill and ted excellent adventure remake if they ever considered it
