As a Nigerian, I was disappointed he was gonna skip Africa. Then died laughing when he didn't. Edit: thank you all for the love. First time hitting 1k. For those concerned about me in my replies, my death was merely figurative. Sincerely pleasantly surprised that the replies are wholesome and not racist.
@@stellviahohenheim Na. He works on a special like most comedians for about 6-12 months, so if you see him running through it, you've seen the special. That's how they work and perfect the routine, and then they press "record". Louis makes a new special every year, so i fyou haven't seen or heard him in 12 months, its' all new.
incidentally he described to Charlie Rose his process for comedy as the one for making samurai swords, basically very many layers compressed into a space
@@TheBiggestMoronYouKnow Even though it was inappropriate he asked for consent. You make it sound he raped or groped somebody. Very fitting username you got there.
Same. I'm beside myself at how he managed to find room for improvement in his already-amazing delivery. The movements, contrast, vocal tones...everything is somehow better! 🤩
and the absurdity of that premise is what kills, you can't have clay on a plane, and it is also fine to throw potential plastic explosives in the bin, and let the potential terrorist just board the plane, and that bin later for sure gets handled like there are potential explosives in there...
Aah, that's what out takes means. I was confused cause I didn't recognise the jokes. Though I was drifting. From Sweden btw, love that breakfast he mentioned:)
What’s crazy is he sucked until 1 day he was just perfect. him and Rodney danger field are two of the greatest success stories of comedians who became great later
It never fails. He always traps audiences with jokes they will laugh at, but then he makes one they will cringe at and immediately calls them out on their BS.
Kinda loses its meaning knowing how stand-up comedy works and the fact that the bit itself requires the audience to have that reaction so he can keep going on his pre-rehearsed material, and it's not like it's a subversive joke and he's speaking the Truth by calling them out, it's literally a couple people going "ooh" out of sheer reflex. Once you've watched enough comedy all these "comedian calls out audience" bits start to be really stale and unfunny. Especially for him, who has overused them so much Ffs he even hung on the pause after the word "Africa" for a longass time to fish for that sound from anywhere in the audience, while with Tokyo and Sweden he continued on, because he knew that someone made that sound at that time too but it didnt work for his joke. And you know that if nobody made a sound he would call them out with "wow it sure got quiet what you got offended?" and go on with the bit
Fact that he basically put out one of the best specials of his carrer after all the shit he had to go through, makes me very happy! Truly one of the greates of all time!
@@sabbasarishvili6677 Not sure, mostly I think it was the words that you used and the order that you put them in. 😜Also, I was asking, not, assuming, hence, the question mark. It's the only punctuation I'm certain I used correctly 😅
Sincerely was good but the reading-the-bible bit in Live At The Dolby was probably the single funniest bit I've ever hear Louie perform, my chest hurt from laughing
I'm convinced there are some jokes that *only* Louis can pull off. Like that Africa joke is so on brand for him if I try imagining any other comedian doing it I can see them bombing so hard. He's on a league of his own. Every time I see a clip of him I get abs from laughing so hard.
One way to realize how great a stand-up comedian is is to constantly check the time bar worried about how much you have till the end of the video while laughing your guts out simultaneously.
@@derekarmstrong3590 @Palapa That is funny. Louis CK is known the King of "Cringe Comedy". Every special contains jokes about his masturbation habits, like for the last 20 years. The Women he took home with him WENT HOME WITH HIM. Almost every Man in the world has taken a women home with them. And trust me, beating off on the couch is the tamest thing that could happen in such scenarios. How many women had awkward or violent sex/groping/rape and regretted it but never told anyone, except maybe their friends? This scenario has happened Billions of times in human history. Louis is weird. He is dirty. He is cringe worthy. But he is not a monster and overall seems pretty tame and level headed.
Louis and Chappelle are the two kings right now. I love Burr but more in a podcast environment. His standup is top 10 but nobody makes you laugh as consistently as Louis and Dave.
I remember when George Carlin was my favorite comedian and for years, then Louis entered the scene and slowly started catching up. He has been my favorite for 15 years now. He is a master of his craft.
Same here, he was the only one who was able to fill my Carlin void for a few years. You should check out his funeral speech at Carlins funeral if you havent seen it, amazing stuff
You're such a damn fool, Mr. C.K. You're literally one of the best EVER, in my book. It's really impressive to see someone THAT extraordinary at their craft. Can't help but think about what it must've taken to get there. Comedy is a true artform. So sweet to watch you work. Thanks, man.✌🏿
I love that Louis still has the power to call an audience on their bullshit by walking them down a path of hypocrisy. 'You're willing to laugh at Swedish and Japanese impressions, but when I mention Africa you all start your performative pearl-clutching.' Reminds me of the 'of course...but maybe' bit.
@@farahabdulahi474exactly thank you..the stereotypes are crazy if he spoke Atleast one of the African languages i was going to like it but he was just cringe because he didn’t put any effort learning about the culture like Dave Chapelle does
@@Nahthatcantbethe point is not to make a good, culturally accurate impression. The point is to make a purposefully bad, surface level stereotypical impression. That is what makes the joke work and the audience get uncomfortable when he mentions Africa. How do you not see that?
@@vinny2555332 I'm merely stating that it's enjoyable even from the perspective of a person who's language he's making fun of. The intention was to add more positive vibes to the comment section, and not literally "give him a pass".
Louis ck is at a rarified level of his own - I can't see anyone else anywhere near him. It is fascinating he can pick something (anything!) from daily life and craft a richly narrated act out of it. Such a great story teller - every description, expression, every pause, inflection is always on point! He makes us laugh at the human imperfections, peculiarities, odd things we do / dearly believe in, gaps between what we are and what we want to be, ironies of our systems and processes....... I often see there is a brash outer layer of a joke hiding a very nuanced inner meaning. Doesn't he make us feel good and more human by making us all laugh together at our imperfections!! I am a huge fan of Louis CK and watched almost every content of his that has come up on the RU-vid. This one is a classic. I am already watching this for a second time in a week! I am sure like many of his videos I will come back to watch it many more times. Do I hear him say "You freeloading xxxxxxx"!! I think time to at least once pay the $10 and watch the full video right royally.
Louis blew me away in 2008 with chewed up and hasnt disappointed since. Will always be the goat in my eyes. Saw him in philly during the 2017 material.
I like Louis CK but come on, the part about them giving him the airplane was the only really funny bit. It's getting to the stage where he could just go "9/11" in a valley girl accent for one hour and the stans would be calling it profound.
Louis CK is the only comedian on this planet that makes me actually confident in my stand up (when I’m alone) but none the less I have never been so motivated for so long thank you for being the actual funniest man on earth
Even the threads he doesn't pull on.. are so funny. Like .. the bit about the airport lady and the clay "Either gimme my clay.. or ask me lots of questions please," he just leaves it there and it's so funny. I think there's so much more there to explore but this guy has such limitless material he can just move on!
Always love that "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Thank you for the entertainment through all these years, it's been a joy to follow you this whole time, and without exceptions.
That scottish man and boy joke KILLED ME DEAD hahahahahahhahahahahahahaha Love you; Louis! Saw him in Berlin last year when he was travelling and he killed it there too. Love love love Louis!
I saw him do this live in london, but it’s interesting he opened with the foreign food but and didn’t mention the airport clay and zoo but until about mid way through the act, separately. I enjoy the process behind a comedian building a special, he also at the end for the encore came on with some jokes he had written and tried them out. And they were hilarious
Comedic genius!!! Love when he calls out the crowd for cherry picking what they choose to get offended at 😂. You know you’re a true comedian when you can spit truth like that but make it funny and relatable too.
I will never forget watching "Chewed Up" on a lark and getting my introduction to Louis C.K. way back when. He is one of the true greats of stand up comedy.
