he’s mastered the ability to tell his jokes “casually” as if he’s just shooting the shit with the audience but he’s memorized every single word and how he’ll approach the tone of those words. it’s amazing.

He’s also really good at testing the crowds responses; he’ll pause but it’s so subtle he decides whether to go along with the whole bit or transition

Which to me was the funniest part of the joke. I saw him do it live before the special. I waited for him to admit it was all in his head and the audience to start roaring, and it never came!!!

@@joink25 aww that’s disappointing. I would have been waiting too. I think CK likes to test what works and doesn’t on the audience. So he switches the punchline up. Another good example is he tells a joke about him being on an airplane. The passengers learn Wi-Fi is free. But it’s down so no Wi-Fi. His joke is the guy next to him starts to whine. CK then talks about how entitled the guy is. That he is disappointed about something he JUST learned about. Anyways, in another interview, CK talks tells the same joke. But this time, at the end of his story, he admits he was the disappointed passenger. It was him the whole time.
