Opie spent years attacking Howard and trying to start drama but Howard largely ignored them. Why is he shocked that Howard doesn't want them near him? Opie was like a crazy ex girlfriend. He was completely obsessed and jealous of him, it killed his ego that he was nowhere near Howard's level.
inspired viewer yeah I missed O&A. I found them looking up Luis CK vids. Now I’m hooked I keep jumping between Louie, billy burr and Patrice. I think what makes it magic is because these Huge comedians right before they blew.

Funny to listen to them scoff about doing a podcast to "twenty people" meanwhile they're sitting on sattelite radio which never took off. It's interesting to look back at 2007 and realise this show format ended up being the basis for many podcasts, long form, unstructured discussion with comedians - sounds straight-forward but it really was unique at the time. It's also interesting to note Joe Rogan referenced O&A as a big inspiration for JRE, to his credit he saw what the future was, even though he's a shit comedian.
I miss this show, even with Gregory as cohost. Anthony is still funny and jimmy is doing well. It’s so shitty how personal work and life gets that it kills friendships.

Leonardo Dicaprio was the most "Eh, give 'im one" Oscars ever. He won for The Revenant. There were so many movies he should have won it for before that.
When Anthony and Opie were slamming Howard and Mel Carmisan, I noticed that Louis said nothing but mm hmm, but avoided saying anything negative about Howard. Haha, very smart! ( I might just want to be on that show one day).
Not only that, the studio wrenched it away from him, recut it into a much less funny version, and the experience messed up his head for years afterward. I know he talks about it on an O&A somewhere
I think he would say it as basically a “don’t come after me I’m not gonna be very sharp cuz I’m sick. I remember if he’d say something stupid or not funny he’d mention how tired he was or how he was sick”
If my family saw the titles of Zarchivo’s clips…. Without knowing it’s discussed for 5 seconds…. I’d end up making them listen, but their approval likely wouldn’t change.
@Kennedy Williams Skipping comments u dont like or understand might be the easiest thing in the world that even the simplest of minds can figure out. Opie interjects and interrupts fascinating and humorous stories, anecdotes, and jokes told by legendary comics, and unfortunately for the world, skipping past his disruptive noises is much more difficult. He has already left his audible stain on 1000s of hours worth of comedic history, so all we can do at this point is patiently wait for people to edit him out.
@@TheMattmanPart1 lol you’re a pathetic idiot who lets an alcoholic tell you how to feel about people. The only reason you people don’t like him this much or even at all half the time because of ants whiny ass ranting on him every moment he thinks of him. And you people are no different. You all act EXACTLY like him lol why don’t you just let him f#*$ you in the a$$ already 😂
@Kennedy Williams yeah it’s pretty pathetic. The fact that it’s so wide spread shows how unauthentic it is. They’re just doing as Anthony does cuz they worship him cuz the west is full of goofballs who will listen to anything people they agree with say. It’s fuckin sad at this point
I try to give Opie the benefit of the doubt. 90 percent of the time I don't notice anything egregious and the sheer volume of Opie hate has peer pressured me into listening for it. This episode is the first time it hit me like a truck without looking for it. Yes Opie please derail the interesting conversation we want to circle back to your allergies.
I'm not even washing the bag of cherries im devouring rite now. I can even stand the opster at this point..... 1 hours later.......I wished I washed my cherries 🍒 and I fucking loathe the opster
Lol woke has always existed in the mainstream. You can go back to the 60s and see DJs being fired for making fun of Japanese. There is always and will always be shows and podcasts like this one where people say what they like. You have bought into this silly idea there is a culture war and woke is a new concept that is going to destroy free speech. Take a step back and go outside, the silly stuff that happens on social media is not representative of real life and people. Nothing is that important to get worked up and obsess over, we all die eventually and none of this really matters so just enjoy yourself and stop being so angry.
I was waiting for the title to be revealed in a Louis joke, not an Opie flop. I love coming back to this dumb american shit every now and again and listening to Patrice and Louis in an all more simpler time as it happens. Thanks for getting it up for us pal
kemper lennox so you wish someone would ruin the episodes? you wish they were edited to be choppy and full of non-sequiturs? Opie is the straight-man. He sets up the homers even of he doesn't knock them out of the park. And also: why even listen if you hate half the cast?
@@IlIlIllIIIlllI I respect the fact that everyone has an opinion, and that opinion is usually based on their likes/dislikes but I couldn't disagree with you more. Opie ruined more 'funny' than he directed it. If he was comfortable and confident with being the straight man who simply stirred the ship then he would have been great, hell he would have been the best of that job of all time. His problem was he hated being the straight man, he wanted to be the comic, he wanted to be the star, most of all he wanted to be the boss, the leader, the authority. They are countless times when the guys are riffing and it's absolutely hilarious but Opie has no part in it so he purposely interjects some garbage aggressively loud to take control and completely change the topic so now he can control and dictate the conversation. If it happened once or twice, you know on rare occasions, ok fine I could forgive it, but he did it every episode, sometimes throughout episodes, it was awful. And for a guy who loved to dish out punishment and disses damn did he have thin skin. The second someone riffed on him he'd get so upset and ruin the vibe in the studio, he was the king of "gregshells". I don't hate on Opie just to do it, I actually liked him when I first started listening to them. I discovered O&A through Patrice O'Neil, the first episode I heard Ant and Patrice were going back and forth cause Ant said he wouldn't fuck a black chick, while Opie said if the chick is hot he'd fuck her regardless of color. I've fucked dozens of black chicks so my first impressions of O&A was I liked Opie and thought Ant was stupid. But I became an avid listener and through RU-vid ended up listening to probably every episode. Over that time getting to know the two I've learned that Ant is very intelligent, ridiculously funny and insanely quick with his wit, I fucking love Ant and think he was the talent, he made the show. As for Opie, I heard more and more the bitch in him, for someone who hates the obligatory 'hole' on radio shows, he absolutely is the hole of the show. His voice is awful, his high pitch whiny screams when he wants attention, he isn't funny, burping into the mic isn't edgy, he's an overgrown corny frat dude. Just not my style, not what I appreciate. Now I will give credit where credit is due, I'm sure there were countless good things he did behind the scenes that were essential to the show's success, and I'm sure he had plenty of good times when he stirred the show perfectly, so I can't act like he was useless. But he was incredibly annoying and interfered too much and ruined a lot of good sessions for stupid calls and lame bits. The best comedy on the show was when Ant and Jim got going with other great comedians like Patrice, Louis CK, Nick DiPaolo, Bill Burr, Joe Derosa, Pat Cooper, Ricky Gervais, and so on.
@@IlIlIllIIIlllI Yeah i moreso liked to laugh at Derosa, rather than laugh cause of his jokes. When he talked about the relationships he ruined and how he's a miserable person, that always put a smile on my face lol... Damn, i just read over my original post regarding Opie, for a guy I never knew personally or even interacted with once, fuck does it come across like I hold a lot of hate and anger towards him. Maybe I was being a bit overly dramatic when i was writing down my thoughts on the Opster. He wasn't that bad, and at times, even had his moments of funny and entertainment. Nah...who am i kidding, fuck Opie lol
In case you didn’t find this out yet. There’s s bunch of videos called Nopies. Pretty fucking popular and doesn’t really fuck with the shows by any means
Everyone did back then. Podcasts were really odd then too, some were like radio shows but most were very short bits or stories, you'd see a ton of 5 min episodes to shows.
Opie saying he only watched TWO HOURS of the oscars, it took him that long to realise how bad it is? He clearly enjoys it but thinks he has to pretend he doesn't so he doesn't get attacked by the other men.
Magnus Fullauto I think he was just referring to white and black slavery and by that time Europe had given up slavery. Just listening and putting their conversation in context
@@BickBickersen Portugal started the trans Atlantic slave trade & abolished slavery after America did. The colonies had less than 10% of slaves. In any context America was tame compared to Europe & the Middle East in terms of African slaves
I love him but I agree that not only him but Carlin also does the same thing when he has been sheltered by the greatest nation on Earth his whole life.
Louis is a true patriot and knows more history, economics, and nuances of social issues than you will in a lifetime. He can not only chronologically list every president he can tell you about their administration and how they changed America. "Complaining" fuck off
Board op’s obsession with Howard was honestly the most pathetic sad telling thing I’ve heard. Ever. No wonder in 2023 he’s on FB with 10 followers 😂 thank god for Ant
About halfway through Louie is very wrong about slavery. It WAS in many other countries all the way into the 1800s. They talk to a black girl from the Caribbean. Slavery was all through the Caribbean and south America. Google Brazil's issue with racism in recent years. It has largely been swept in the rug but it is boiling over. Over Half of that country is directly related to slaves. Much larger issue than the one in the US which only had legal slavery in southern states and had many people fighting it for many years.
