But what guarantee do you have that cousins is "going to play well"..?..Its hope and expectations...but he's older and coming off a bad injury etc etc...maybe they're hoping he'll mentor the young QB...AND the kid can learn the nfl game by watching
Cousins is an above average NFL qb you can win with, imo. You know what you’re getting. Youngsters out of college? No idea what you’re getting initially. ATL wants to win now..that’s the plan (acquiring KC to begin with). Penix is longer-range
Who’s to say the HC and GM will even be around when that time comes? NFL head coaches have three years (sometimes not even) before they get the yank. I understand the sentiment but not in today’s league. I would have rather secured a DE, CB or another position of need. Could have taken a Joe Milton or project QB that needs time on the shelf.
