As a clarinetist, I love Spohr's concertos. They're such gems that unfortunately get overshadowed by Mozart's concerto, and they need a lot more attention than they usually get, both from the clarinet playing community and the general public. Thanks for sharing!
The first movement takes its theme and literally entire quotations from Haydn' symphony 95. There is some historical attestation that could confirm that?
Como corre el condenado clarinetista......y lo peor es que el la orquesta le sigue en su desenfrenada y alocada carrera. Especialmente en los pasajes rápidos (con semicorcheas) se embala que es un gusto....como si quisiera demostrar que su vehículo corre más que ninguno. Lástima! Por que podría haber sido una grabación magistral de no ser por ese "pequeño " inconveniente.
