Yassssss you are the reason my rose ballerine button on my 6 key ring holder just like yours has never had any issues love your older background those ring lights kind of distort the true color of things ! Thanks for sharing! I just bought the same Rosalie that you have, so I wanted to put polish on it. I had a 6 key holder that I bought a few years ago and the pale pink button looks crappy since I never applied anything to it.

Thank you Lala! This was a really helpful video...after watching several of your videos, I have decided on the Rosalie with the RB interior. I plan to pick up the Matte Top coat to protect the button. I am wondering how after 3 months of use with the Matte vs regular top coat, your item is wearing...Any updates or issues? I have this one and I noticed no color fading from the button. I close the wallet by putting pressing down on both sides of the button, if that makes sense. Hopes this helps!

@@z3645abcd pretty good! I made a review of my Victorine Wallet on my channel about 3 mos ago. You can see the condition there. It hasnt peeled or anyting bad. I did paint in several layers. I can imagine the wear and tear to be a lot worse if I didnt paint polish on it.

I use the nail polish on my 6 ring key holder, my victorine wallet, and even on my metal buttons of my sarah wallet in DE, and Epi one on the DE after glazing repair they change the bottom also, becouse it was tarnishing, so when i got it back i apply nail polish and looks brand new, also when i apply to my victorine wallet, looks like so heavy so i apply nail polish remover, and nothing happened, to the bottom, an re apply the nail polish, so if you need the warranty you can take it off with no risk

Hi Lala! I just bought a Rosalie wallet in Fuchsia, and want to apply the nail polish. I'm thinking of seeing how the button hold up for a year, since it is warranty for free repair for a year? and then do the nail polish application when the warranty is over. Do you think that is a good idea? I believe that if my button is damaged within a year they will repair it for free? I bought mine from LV online so haven't had the chance to ask about it. I figure you probably have a better idea than some of the sales associates there;) Thanks!

northvan mom The warranty is typically for manufacturer defects and not for wear and tear. So if you drop it, scrape it or have color transfer - they might still ask you to pay for the repair since those are considered wear and tear issues.

Hi Lala! Excellent video! I had done this to my key holder and at first it held up pretty well but unfortunately it fell flat on the button on concrete and it did get scraped. 😳 I would hate to think what would have happened had I not added the polish. The button is still in and not torn off but u can still see the scrape in the middle. I’m going to leave it alone unless it tears up or falls off. Besides, it adds character to it lol. How much is usually the fees LV charge for repair on something not covered by the warranty?

mary sonne It depends on the item. I think the button replacement is around $30-ish. Not terribly expensive but it does take them a long time to finish the repair. Replacing vachetta is typically half the cost of a brand new bag, I had my Agenda glazing redone and that was around $200 - it really does depend on the extent of the repair and how much work goes into it.

sweetlhou Good question! I like the Rosalie better only because the Victorine can be a little bulky if used for my smaller bags (like the Chanel Mini). I’ve found the Rosalie to be a little more versatile.

Suny Days I don’t think it’s silly at all that you want to protect the button. I just don’t know how nail polish would last / wear on a metal surface since it’s not something I have tried.

I did put nail polish topcoat on my victorine and it got too thick which scraped off the button which has now peeled. Had to get this button replaced by LV. I would not recommend putting the nail polish. LV is built to last..

nail polish isnt a good idea. It never becomes rock hard and gets scratched easily too. Better use liquid varnish. I use fimo varnish for fimo polymer clay. They have it in glossy, semi-gloss and matte. Looks and feels way better.

Just dropping in here because I saw this. I used Apple Guard after watching a great video by Shea Whitney on RU-vid. She followed-up about 6 months or so after applying it saying that it still looks great. I was so nervous to do it, but I was finding that I was so worried about the weather and what would happen, that I wanted to ease my worry a bit. I have had it a little over 6 months now and it looks great. I've been in the rain, etc. Also, mine has patina'd (not sure how to spell that LOL). I can tell that it has patina because if I move the top handle around from under the canvas pieces holding it on, it's a lot brighter/whiter than the leather that has seen the sun. In my experience, it just protects from water spots - not the patina process.

BeautifulYouShow For SLG, it’s one year for manufacturer defect but it does not cover wear and tear. So if you get color transfer on the button, they won’t repair for free because it wear and tear. But if the button falls off (like detached from the snap) they would most likely repair it for free because the snap / button was defective.
