It is absurd to say that Louis cannot be King of France because of a treaty signed over 300 years ago. Hundreds of treaties were signed in the past that we do not follow any more. The conditions that led to the treaty no longer apply, so by what rationale should we expect people to adhere to one 300 year old treaty, but not another? A long time ago, I read a book of what was a true story about the little Dauphin and how after his mother and father were executed, he was for a time terribly mistreated in the tower/prison.. They were cruel and abused him physically, he was being starved, and he almost died 2 x's from his injuries, and combination of sickness and malnutrition.. Somehow there were some who took pity on the child and swore by all means to protect him.. It was said they helped him escape toward England or Switzerland (can't recall).. This story was so painful and heart wrenching to read, I cried and cried at knowing he was alone with no one in the world.. But, I believe also his sister Marie Teres was found to be alive and was taken to England (?), later married and lived a quiet life hidden away in Switzerland (I believe) from any former Royal life. I cannot recall if she had children or remained childless.. However, I believe the little Dauphin died a few years later from the trauma he sustained.

Et bien d'un point de vue purement juridique et coutumier, Louis XX est l'ainé des capétien et de ce fait l'héritier légitime du trône de France. Cependant, à cause (ou grâce selon vos opinions) au traité d'Utrecht de 1713, la branche espagnole a renoncé avec tous ses descendants au trône de France. A partir de là deux solutions, soit on signe un nouveau traité avec les anciennes puissances signataires qui annulerait ou modifierait d'un commun accord ce traité, permettant à Louis XX de monter sur le trône, soit on ne fait rien on se nouveau traité n'est pas signé par les puissances étrangères et là on devra accepter Henri VI. Reading my books louis phillipe son married a princess of Brazil. Francois's mother was queen of Naples, Italy. The European Royal families married each other and later on the colonies. That is one. That is ridiculous. Why should a 300 year old treaty have any application today? Do we still follow the hundreds of year old treaties that divided up land in Africa for European colonial powers? Why should one very old treaty be followed, but not another? The conditions that gave rise to that treaty no longer apply and therefore it is the treaty itself that should be invalidated.
