I looked up at the clock and thought, 🤔 where’s OWF 🤔? WTF. 😂😂😂😂😂 Mc D. Ickk. Don’t like it. Maybe cuz I grew up with it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ But great view!! that lady actually was a Lufthansa gate agent, they just had to ask because Canada wanted them to do so haha. She got so confused and just started laughing with me and her colleagues😂 she said my accent just made the whole thing more "suspicious" LOL. She apologised at the end but she said she was required to ask me that many questions because of my background haha

For your information: Refreshments need to be handed out to passengers if there is a delay longer than 2h in the EU, so that was perfectly fine from Lufthansa's side!

phew.. and a lot more expensive, I just checked the price, it's now roughly 300eur for FRA-YYZ alone and 550EUR for BCN-YYZ, and I paid 130EUR for everything😂 so unreal. thanks Daniel!!

Nice as always, Jayden! Good to hear the crews are nice. Usually they're not too nice with passengers filming onboard from what I have heard from several people. But yea, that boarding gate situation - that's way overloaded!

In all my years of flying Jyden I can never recall boarding a 747 by the stairs...most unusual...at least in most countries!! I doubt in Hong Kong and Australia we need to de ice... but what a great moment for you !! Nothing like a Gin and Tonic !! Great seat for the outside views....ah Paris !! Just an average flight mate...unusual in regard to the boarding as the German's usually are well organised with that sort of thing....but it would appear the staff were as confused as the passengers. The sandwich looked like something you would give to the dog...not good. The fare is amazing for the trip though and the staff were pretty good and the wine pour looked very generous...RH RN !! Great to see you still posting videos Jayden...it makes my Thursdays !! Thanks mate and take care !! Why the applause from the passengers on landing ?? Strange !!

My first ever flight (that I have memory of) was Cathay 747 to Osaka, and we boarded by stairs😂 16 years later I boarded by the stairs again😍 Never even seen the de-iced vehicles in Hk or Australia, I was very excited at Maccas and onboard. Earlier that day in Barcelona, boarding was very well organised and was done by groups, there was no nothing at FRA, just crowds! They clapped after the crew said something in German on the PA, need someone to translate it🤪

I have pretty bad flight anxiety but i like to watch these kinds of videos, as I actually like airplanes but just not flying them. At 11:05 on the screen you are flying over my hometown Trier which was such a coincidence for you to film the monitor at that moment exactly at that place. Maybe destiny is calling me :D

Interesting report OWF! As an Englishman, I always like to hear of German disorganisation after hearing all my life how efficient they are, (sibling rivalry - not racism!), but the delays must have been frustrating. Sorry your chances of entering more queens is disappearing - I too shall miss the 747's muchly. You drank a g and t. I knew you are a gentleman. Keep up the good work OWF. Thanks

The 747-8 is obviously beautiful but the LH economy experience has been quite horrible as of late. Feels like Ryanair but on long-haul ugh. Might as well pay a bit more for KLM biz.

Been Seaching back to see your Lufthansa and Frankfurt airport video's as we will be travelling to Ljubljana, Slovenia from Manchester UK, been looking to get some familiarisation for both, Frankfurt looks to be a nice airport but Lufthansa reviews have been a little mixed, so will have to see what we get. Love the 747's though and still have better memories of flights on those when compared to the Dreamliners and A350's. The 747 is such a fantastic engineering achievement and they just look so good. Like the airside view from McDonald's too so will likely spend a little time in there. It was quite mesmorising watching the de-icing fluid streaming of the wings on take off. Service on board seemed pretty good but that sandwich, that didn't look palitable at all. I also agree regarding cabin crew, its always good to see at least one doing the rounds after lights out.

That sandwich reminds me of a Virgin Australia flight I was on about four years ago; passengers were given toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches, which were as hard as bricks!

Hi. Support from HK here. Nice to see you finally flying Lufthansa. I’ve been flying lufthansa from UK to HK for the 4th year now. I must say that their service have downgraded. I love Lufthansa in all ways and it’s just unlucky for you for the gate change and remote gate. For me no matter flying from MUC or FRA it is no problem for me. Also the cabin crew onboard is always fantastic i think. I love to fly on their A340-600 it’s a magnificent aircraft. I must say that is weird to see that they have a more modern in flight entertainment system on their 747-400 comparing to their -8s

thanks for watching! I don't mind a remote gate but their handling on the delay was appalling. Incorrect information on emails and mismatch information as opposed to the airport flight display board.. Agree with their modern system onboard their 747-400, it's newer than the A380 too haha

oh the happy days of flying - i have flown Lufthansa many times and once held Senator status. Normally they are predictably average. McDonalds delicious - lol . B62 is a terrible bus gate i cant see it being used post covid. Legroom looked good for economy - a few crumbs on the floor near ythe power socket :( good to see you hitting the booze - G&T very appropriate . The lunch looked fab but you should have had wine with it ! On Many LH flights i have taken, they leave the wine bottles out for help yourself service after the meal service. Agree the pre landing snack was Disgusting. Good to see you on the red wine. Thanks for the review hope you get to fly again sometime soon.

Hi Jayden, it was not too bad a flight after all, thanks god, and sooooo cheap! The food you were served was plenty for economy -- you wouldn't have had so much on Air Canada! Phew what a foggy flight! Love the view + the contrails especially @11:18 🌁 Although boarding was chaotic, I liked how people got off the bus, admire and take pics of 747 400 hahaha! 😂 Are those cameras for security?? @2:07 those are cool! 💯 Wanna see u try Garuda too, I heard they have nice crew as well as onboard products. Interesting that you boarded their 747 on the tarmac in Frankfurt cause I’ve flown from Frankfurt on their 747-8, in premium economy, and we used the jetway.

Good report! The aircraft is still beautiful! Old but reliable and it got a brand new modification with a shark skin on the fuselage in order to reduce fuel consumption. Lufthansa also mentions this in its shareholder report 2020. Maybe you have seen this during the boarding on the outside of the skin. Now the ac has been transferred to the twente airport in the netherlands. Let's hope that we will have a chance to see the Queen of Skies in the air again.

Nice trip report, the seat in front of you looks weird. I'd flown EVA Air Boeing 747-400 from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City about 4 or 5 years ago. I booked economy class but my seat was on the upper deck and it was very comfortable and big too. The foods were great too! I'm very sad when I heard the news say that EVA Air retired all their Boeing 747 :(((

Great video, Jayden. That’s my favorite plane, the Queen of the Skies. I’m so sad to see them go. Wow, that gate area was horrendous! I wouldn’t have tolerated that well. I loved your explanation of where you’re from, where you’ve been, and where you’re going to the gate agent. 😂 Glad your flight was good overall.

Thanks Mike! The gate agent was gobsmacked when I finished explaining my reasons of travel, and started laughing😂 She said when I might get questioned a lot when going through the US border, but nope! At the US pre-clearance at Toronto Airport, the officer only asked 'where do you live?'. I said Australia and Hong Kong. And then he stamped my passport! That lady asked me the most question and she's just an airline staff😝

The meal is almost identical to my FRA-EWR flight in February Also had the gulasch which was indeed amazing and possibly one of my favorite onboard meals and I can also fully agree about the terrible sandwich.

Surprisingly disorganised pre-departure experience though onboard offering was to a good standard. (the dreaded pre-landing sandwich excepted!) Watching this makes me aware of just how different flying is going to be in the future. No proper catering, minimal interaction with the cabin crew, no alcohol service. @@JaydenWong QLD Health is hoping to open borders to all states on July 10, but today warned that there is concern about the numbers of community transmissions in Victoria this week, and that these may result in that date being pushed back. They have advised that opening to specific states would be difficult to administer, and prefer to open to all states on the same date.

I know I’m kinda late to the party. We primarily use type 1 and 4. Type 1 is good for getting the frost that accumulated over night or do to the cold fuel in the wings during a turn. This is generally an de ice fluid not an anti icing and has a limited hold over time. Type 4 is sticky and allows a longer time between application and departure. Especially in cold snowy weather. Ultimately company procedure and the PIC determines the fluid type used.

I had 3 layovers in Frankfurt in the last couple of years. The airport is just pure chaos 😂 Munich or Zurich normally offer you a muuuuch better experience. But at least, they plan to improve the experience.

Hi Jayden, I enjoyed your trip report. Yes, it is really annoying when one’s departure gate is changed once or twice. I experienced that once or twice recently at Changi with SQ, but I guess it happens for understandable operational reasons. A pity that Lufthansa could not fully accommodate the needs of affected passengers. You mentioned in an earlier trip report about showering in the longe before a flight. I have not quite had that luxury, but at the hotel I stay at in Singapore, even if I. Heck out in the morning and fly out of Changi in the evening, 8 have the run if hotel facilities till I leave for the hotel, so I make sure 8 have a shower AND a sauna and a change of clothes before I leave for Changi. I noticed in today’s trip report that you have a little furry person in the background of your Q&A section, underneath your maple leaf flag. Asking on behalf of someone else who is also small and furry, do you take your (assuming it is yours) little furry friend with you when you fly? Looks like no overseas travel out of Australia till next year, so look after yourself till some form of normalcy returns. Take care.

Very good observation Phillip! I need to hold on to something when I sleep, that's why I have 4 pillows all to myself and also 2 furry friends😂 I do check them in when I fly around. I appreciate Lufthansa updated us through email, but it became annoying when they got the gate wrong and couldn't notify us about the delay. Might have to do lots of domestic travels in the next few months haha. thanks for watching :D

Great trip report! It is a frustrating experience at Frankfurt airport, with disorganized boarding and quite a few disinterested staff at boarding gate. On the other side, your inflight service looks quite good despite the weirdly thick white cheese in sandwich lol... 👍🏻

There's always cheap deal going around for North AmericaEU flights. The cheapest would be flying from A to B via a hub in EU or North America or both! For example, London to LA will be so expensive, London is BA base, LA is AA base. Maybe something like Amsterdam to SF with oneworld will be cheap :D this trick should work outside the transatlantic world as long as they're long haul flights :)

Is it correct that after you arrive in Toronto and you want to go to US, you directly cleared the US Preclearance at YYZ?

correct! normally you check-in, go to security, then US pre-clearance and you'll be in the airside for me, when I landed, I had 14 hours so I entered Canada, stayed at a hotel for a night. I've already got my boarding pass for Boston in Barcelona over 24 hours ago so i just went straight to security when I arrived at YYZ for the second time :)

Very sad that the boarding was a madhouse...always love the queen of the skies...great to see silver utensils...the salad looks dry!...never flew this carrier before but always heard they are the better European ones...sadly slot of the crew were laid off due to the current pandemic... I agree the sandwich looks disgusting indeed ...well no disrespect I rather always fly an asian carrier. I guess what makes some western carriers bad is that they don't have a consistent service standards. Oh by the way rem you said you never seen crew going around refilling wines? Well Thai Airways...they do it even on regional flights. ❤😷😘👌As usual great video and as always stay safe didi! Luv ya...🤗

At E160 I would even walk to the aircraft and climb a rope to get in :) Sooo disappointed with the landing...I was looking forward to re-living the crash, bang, wallop, rattle, rattle, rattle that I remember so well. I'd love to fly Lufthansa's A340-600 someday from East Asia to Europe/North America. I almost flew with them this month from Shanghai to Frankfurt but they changed to a 747-400 and I canceled it plus the Coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully next year. I have been on Lufthansa's A340-300 from Jakarta to Singapore/KL when they used to have 5th freedom flights and flew to Jakarta

The LH 744 gets deiced before takeoff in Frankfurt. The weather in Frankfurt was very cold especially in January.

One World Flyer I had to come back to this video because I found out I had exactly the same sandwich on my Lufthansa flight to Lisbon (my latest video) It was like ewwwww. My mom flew from Lisbon to Munich a week later (I didn’t fly non stop as she did) and she told me it was the same sandwich again. Don’t they notice no one likes them?!? 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

"long-arse walkway" - is this a specail term from Hong Kong? (or maybe Elizabeth :P ). The main thing about this video was what I remember about 744 - it is so LOUD in the cabin. I've actually been glad not to fly the 744 since 2012. But the seats look good, even though I would not have liked the sandwich either (maybe if toasted). The aircraft appeasrs to be now parked in Frankfurt since 27 March.
