This was quite possibly one of the most under-rated songs ever in hip-hop. The beat and bass line alone makes this a classic, but mix in the voice and rap it becomes one of the best ever! It didn't get anywhere near the acclaim it should have.

Wow I used to love this song back in the early 90's when I was a lil teen in jr high! The radio stations used to pump this joint like crazy, especially in the SUMMER time.

I heard the beats of this song in a background of a commercial. I knew the beat but couldn’t remember the words. As I was doing some house cleaning, the words of this song started coming to me. I went crazy looking for it online. No luck. I know I had this track on a dance compilation CD back in the 90’s. But Of course the CD was stolen from me back then. So I gave it another shot here, I punched in search “I surrender” 1990. And here it is. The song and the artist. And of course can’t find it on “Apple Music”. yo big ups cause I was tearing the internet lookin for this one.but this was very rare cause it got radio rotation from October to December of 1990 and I remember being mad as hell cause I was always lookin forward to hearing but they hardly played the damn song.
