I learned the a&b choice with Paras in the sped department - it's amazing how much I learned from the paras! I also learned - work it out when there's a problem between kids. Unless it's bullying . And I send that to the office.
Thank you for the "crash course" in L&L in the classroom. As a former teacher that took some years off but coming back to the classroom, this was a helpful refresher course. I previously have some training and experience w using the book in both the classroom and w my own kids, but felt a bit rusty. This was great to boost my confidence, I needed the CliffsNotes version to catch up!
Hi, thank you so much for your presentation! What do you suggest for a student who whines and complains throughout the day (no para in the room). I understand logical consequences with the resulting unfinished work but what tips can you give for daily disruption from loudness ( another spot in the room is just as audible) throughout the day? Thank you!!
I would never deliver bad news with a smile. I will show sympathy, but I would never ever smile. To me that is like mocking the student's feelings. I may even say something like, I am sorry you cannot go to recess today but... Or I know you really like playing with that game, but.... How can you say things things with a smile, KNOWING that a student really looks forward to these things? How would you like it if someone smiled at you while giving you bad news? For me, I would lash out verbally and the urge to slap that individual would be great.
