I came from game design and still try to maintain a presence in modeling and rigging and all and I was D E A D convinced Jibaro was live action. I'm still wrapping my head around it, it's hands down the most realistic cg I've seen in my life. It took a camera movement in IN Vaulted Halls Entombed to make me realize that was CG as well (the humans anyways), but Jibaro just... it better win awards. That studio and staff better get an award. Or five.

This is the best series I've ever seen in my life. Hollywood is not even knee-deep in any of these short films. Incredible quality of story, drama, screenplay, theme, as well as the animation itself. When artists get their hands free, then nothing but pure gold can be expected.

While I totally agree, sadly LDR isnt really Mainstream if you compare it to garbage movies like 365 days or movies with the Rock. Thats the stuff people watch on Netflix. While LDR is successfull its by far not successfull enough to focus on more artistic projects like this.

This, unfortunately, is not self-evident. The animation department of Netflix is going through some changes, at least in the children's department. Promising shows are being cancelled for no good reason, because they don't fit the executive's idea on what a good show has to be. So yes, it is going through a similar phase CN is. And that is a problem.

@@IanG99 According to the director, its a story based on a toxic relationship which is sensual. SPOLERS AHEAD: The siren preys on men but then she finds this one guy who is unaffected by her voice. She's intrigued and follows him but is betrayed by him due to his greed. The he gets his hearing back by drinking from the bloody water (which apparently has healing properties) and then becomes victim to the now reanimated siren. In the end both parties lose a lot.

If it's the same writer, it'll be John Scalzi. Award winning Sci-Fi writer behind Old Man's War and Ghost Brigades. Both fantastic novels that I'd recommend, though the final 3-4 books in the series are sort of iffy. He did Redshirts as well, and the Interdependcy series.

With animation not being funded as much as live action in film and television, streaming or otherwise, I really hope this series continues on into the future. Being an anthology series it (hopefully) won’t feel dragged out like conventional series, and it showcases the skills of animators and why they should be applauded too.

I just know I read an article recently that Netflix made big cuts to animation as a result of well below predicted profits for this past quarter. I guess they decided if there was going to be cuts, it would be primarily to animation.

We need more shows like this for up-and-coming animators to show off their talents and for people to decide which they like best to become a full series or movie. Before this there were the Death Metal movies, Nickelodeon had Oh Yeah! Cartoons, Cartoon Network had What A Cartoon!, even Disney had Shorty McShorts' Shorts.

You cant be certain that the more it keeps going, they will manage to always keep the quality at the same level. If it isnt forced then definitely continue it but if they just do it because it is popular and it drops in quality then i dont mind stopping while it is still a masterpiece

then that will become a episode in itself within love, death and robots. society stuck to their tvs to experience a world beyond reality to escape the crippling depression of our own. start off as a sad documentary but the people behind the camera realize they are adding to the problem, and see you as a old person happy in your years watching the show convincing those behind the camera never to stop making the show because the show gives hope to those brave enough to look away and see the world from a different lens. not from a screen, not from the lens of a camera but from their own eyes as what the world could be not what it really is.

My jaw dropped. All the different styles of animation was so fun to see! I'm so excited to watch this season! I'm still dumbfounded on why animation is still only seen as a medium for children when this trailer shows why that's not the case. @@gilbucle The first season was just so unique. The first of its kind. The second season was given only after Netflix realized how freaking epic these collections are. The second season had a couple episodes that didn’t “make the cut” the first time around. The consistency throughout the first season even though being very different episodes from the last, had appeal factor as well. The second season was solid. A great way to continue a narrative and expand. This season looks exciting and that’s off of me watching 10 sec of the thriller because I refuse to spoil my “with a fresh set of eyes” experience with random clips lol 😂. Boutta get high, and pop some popcorn and enjoy the closest thing I can find to Dark Mirror 😭😩😭!

I feel like some of those stories are great precisely because they are short. No filler, no "let's talk for 15 minutes to fill time". It's the same with movies, some really boring movies could be awesome 20-minute videos, if you delete all the crap and leave only the really important parts of the story. I'd love to see a 2-hour long "Jibaro" but I have no idea how they would make it into a long format. The way it is, it's perfect. I love it. I

Just finished season 3. Very good. I enjoyed most of them. The miniature zombie one was excellent. The rat one was good too as was the cybernetic grizzly bear. The animation on the last one with the deaf knight and the siren was on another level.

The issue here is I really like these stories BECAUSE I'm interested in what THEIR imagination comes up with, so I can't help but want to see more. That and I just LOVE the artwork and I would love to see more. (I should probably look up the artists other work.)
