This couple single-handedly rewrote my standards for what constitutes good onscreen chemistry. I've never seen two fictional characters light up for each other the way these two do. It's is an act of profound unfairness to compare any other onscreen couple to these two.
@@Samana009 he does get her at the end. It does suck that we don’t get to see it after 5 years, and the last 3 episodes wiped everything the show has been building. You can tell at the end she really does want to remember, and she was slowly getting her memory back (she remembered carving her name into the side of the house). The show also shows the true loves kiss works (Sarah saving chuck after the doctors said it’s too late). The writers also said that Chuck and Sarah end up together, but it’s up to the viewers if the kiss worked in the end. That point in the show Sarah has nowhere else to go other than to be with chuck bc her time as a spy was over, so it makes sense she’d stick with chuck anyway. The show had to do something drastic for it to be picked up for a season 5, so that’s why they went down that path. The writers also said that it was their way of the characters falling in love all over again. I agree the ending sucks, and id wish they’d make a movie (ik the odds are extremely low for that happening at this point), but chuck and Sarah are together at the end. Wether is was after a couple of months of them falling back in love with Sarah’s memories slowly returning, or she instantly remembers chuck after the kiss is up to us. I think the kiss worked based on Sarah kissing chuck and him waking up it’s only fair it works for chuck lol. Even if she had left him her memories would slowly come back, and she remembers the way she felt about them and they’d wind up together again. I don’t think that’s what would happen with the way it ended tho.
the first time i watch Chuck i immediately fell in love with Sarah for me she was and still is the ideal woman. I always dreamed of meeting a Sarah Walker and being with her 😍🥰
One of the great parts of this particular relationship was that we completely understood why Chuck adored Sarah and Chuck was such a sweetheart that you completely understood how Sarah fell head over heels for him as well.
I never comment, but she can do more acting with her eyes than any other actress out there. She had us all believe in love with just the way she looked at chuck
Completely agree. Just finished my nth rewatch, and noticed how not only does every song fit the scene perfectly, I like them all as much as I did when the episode first aired and every one can bring me straight back to the scene where they’re from. Thats really rare for any media
Except they missed a perfect opportunity. In the scene where Chuck drunkingly asks Sarah if she loves him, he should've been listening to some Starship when she walks in. It's just so obvious and is totally something Chuck would likely listen to.
When Chuck sarcastically says “Please, I’m fantastic” it’s one of the most relatable things I’ve ever heard from a guy in a tv show. Using humor to joke around the fact that I don’t really feel good enough for such a perfect woman like her
To be fair, Yvone and Zach both can convey love extremely well, hell, you can cut the love with a knife, I still believe that she loves him more than he loves her, Sarah can truly make a guy feel special.
@@MFAN1100 In my opinion she loves him more than he loves her because she's much more acomplish than him, much more secure than Chuck, it was truly his heart that got her, for him we see that it's her beauty and his ideal of the perfect woman- not trying to bash on them- they are my favorite TV couple.
Yvonne Strahovski is gorgeous, but it really is true....the way she looks at him in these scenes is amazing. It looks real....or the way I wish reality was. I've only seen a look like that from two women in my life....and I almost collapsed, both times. She does it in every scene....like I said....amazing.
Them portraying that undying love they have for each other through their eyes and suddenly they drop that piano beat...... My heart just stops beating for a moment
One of my favorite shows ever. Loved every single character. Also the chemistry between chuck and sarah makes we want to fall in love more than anything in the world
When she fights back tears when he tells her he thinks they can never be together. She won’t let him see how badly that hurts her. She has hinted to him how she feels even though she tries to fight it. That Bartowski charm got to her.
I'm convinced she was going to tell him, if he had let her talk first. The shrug of the shoulder and nervous swallow before she goes over to him, she clearly wasn't comfortable with what she was going to tell him.
Chuck is a gem made in heaven. I watched over 30 series and am aware of many more out there. None and I mean it, none, comes close to Chuck by tens of kilometers.
For me that was the last two. I still think that the writers went sideways and there was no reason at all to make fans grind their teeth in watching Sarah as a robot, not only having her memories suppressed but presenting us with an ending which was open to guesses. Would that be so hard for them to positively end the series with Sarah having her memories freed and back again and for all to have the loving Sarah back looking at Chuck with her diamond eyes I guess that was too lovely for them.
@@rezae342 Thats what I been saying a lot. But there are a lot of people that defend the ending. I'm not one of them. Like you I wanted a happy ending rather then open ended. After everything they went through, it was the least that they deserved
In my opinion, those who defend the original ending are not in line with the true spirit of Chuck and the joy that the series brought to everyone. A lovely series should end with loveliness and happy notes, not tearing apart five years of hard work and commitment.
Oh men this couple make me cry again..needs 89 eps for their relationship development and only 1 episode ruined all of those feeling. They deserve better ending man maybe movies or just mini series
The ending leaves it to the viewer imagination to decide what will happen. Though their relationship might not be the same as before, I believe they fall in love again...
They end up together the producer let it to the viwers and if ti can ease your mind i even watched a video of zachary saying that they end up together and come on you have to be positive she showed things before the end that show that she will remember and even if she didn't she will fall in love with him again and even the song was clear about the situation rivers and roads rivers and roads till i reach you Ps: sorry for my bad english english is not my mother language
No other woman in the world and in the future of acting won't come close to Yvonne's play in Chuck. What she did and conveyed will forever be sealed in the annals of the universe. That's not enthusiasm, that's a cosmic fact. May she shine upon us for many many years to come. She is the sun.
@@CJ-fe9tp Tx CJ. While both the latters are good, they are serious, deep and somehow depressed works. I prefer, her superb, light and romantic job in Chuck. I understand your opinion, but I don't agree. Every person has his/her own taste.
@@rezae342 I get what you are saying about preference and taste. Chuck and Astronaut Wives Club are more rewatchable for me than The Handmaid's Tale and Stateless. They are a lot more fun. But objectively looking at acting is a different thing. Her roles after Chuck have been more challenging and allowed her to take her strengths to the next level. We know from Chuck that she is great at nuanced face acting and elevating the material given to her. She is even better at those as Serena and Sofie. These two roles have been described as an "acting master class" and "the best performances of her career" because they are. Another thing, The Handmaid's Tale, especially, has opened her up to new audiences. A-list celebrities and producers are watching that show. Much as I want fun stuff and much as I know she is great at action and comedy, we cannot box her into "superb, light and romantic" roles. She herself is drawn to darker roles. It challenges her as an actress and I'm here to see what's next. She keeps getting better and it's great to watch. Agree to disagree, I guess.
@@rezae342 Agree. I wonder if she has any up-coming roles that would allow her portray another light-hearted romantic comedy? Seems that the last several movies/films have been very serious dramas. Just wondering.
@@douglassmith8950 Unfortunately, since Chuck, she hadn't had a comparative role featuring her amazing beauty, martial, fighting and dancing talents and skills. She would have made an awesome Captain Marvel. Depressing roles are deep but at the same time a waste of other youthful talents. When people are of age, they always have time and room for such deep and sort of quiet roles. I'm sad. She lost more than eight years of her youth that she will never get back...
What an amazing show. I can't imagine how it would feel to have someone like Sarah look at me like she does to Chuck. I'm just not that lucky. TV show or not, her eyes and their chemistry is hands-down the best I've seen in any tv show ever. We need Chuck now more than ever!
Its now 2021 soon to be 2022 and I miss this show so much I just finished watching every season of chuck once again I can't stop watching it chuck is my favorite TV series I was only 8 years old when this show ended now I'm 17 almost 18 I wish there were more story to Sarah and chuck I really want another season or a couple movies made and I really want Sarah to get her memories back and I want to see Sarah and chuck buy there dream home together and have a family
@@rayjardiolin5035 have you seen the Handmaids tale because if u had you would realise that she one an Emmy for her Character of Serena/Mrs Waterford who is a proclaimed bitch who allows her husband to rape a handmaid then takes the child.
He was still affected by his previous relationship with Jill and Sarah's past relationship with Bryce. And Sarah didn't help matters by giving him mixed signals, obvious signs that she actually liked him, while simultaneously denying it.
Sarah Walker had eyes for Chuck when she saw him help the Dad make a Dance residual video and then even more when he made that joke about the restraining order... Then she really fell for him when he disarmed the bomb...
She fell for him before he disarmed the bomb. The AWFUL "personal baggage handler" and restraining order jokes are what did it. Sarah always loved him most at his dorkiest (the "Bartowski eye brow dance", the Valentine's Day scene, and "The Piranha")
I remember when I started watching this on tv when I was in like 6th grade and I hade the biggest crush on Sarah 😅 to this day I fell like I’ve ended up like chuck, minus getting an in with the CIA...WINK WINK to the agent watching me 🤣🤣
Wasn’t a fan of the spy missions they went on, it just felt like a filler for the show. I was more interested in how every time they got into trouble, Chuck and Sarah’s feelings for each other was put to the test.
This isn’t a knock on Yvonne, but it’s a real pleasure to see both Sarah open up as a character over the show, and to see Yvonne grow as an actor. If you showed me an emotional scene from season 1 and from season 5, it’s crazy the difference
Watching her in shows like The Handmaid's Tale is even crazier. No trace of Yvonne or Sarah in Serena Joy at all! She is so good and she just keeps getting better.
She was a hardened spy who had softened. 😊 every woman needs a guy like chuck in her life. Yvonne was great as Sarah. She always hinted she was into him but couldn’t be
Critics called Handmaid's Tale season 2 "the best performance of her career." Some also said the same for Stateless and she won Best Lead Actress in Australia for it. Check that out too. It's on Netflix.
I love Sarah mystery character too! Sarah development arc just shine in final season more than other characters. She finally understand power of friendship between Chuck and Morgan, discover own path about normal life without spying and being more supportive for Chuck in things about life than Chuck even! Watching all these Sarah's interactions and behaviours is so satisfaing! :D That's why I love 5th season, that's why last scene on beach is so meaningfull... But on "but": What the hell writers did to Sarah character in S05E12?! I hate it! She was only puppy for last bad guy in series. She even didn't discover truth on your own, the truth is told to her ... WTF? Why? That's sad. Very sad. So just assume that in parallel universe: 'Evil Sarah' or 'Old Sarah' has discovered something to start believed in true relationships with Chuck. For instance: her notes with names for baby in own laptop (from previous episode). First clues for no trust Quinn... Or her Spy Will given to Chuck. Or their wedding tape and her vows for Chuck. Something what she only did for loved person in real life. Whatever, to put Sarah in own investigation about what really is true about her past! And I know that Old Sarah only dreamed about family, never really believed it before Chuck etc, but why after window scene with Quinn, she trust him so much!? "Trust no one", remember Sarah? ;). Then she can discovered real truth on your own without Quinn, without beating Chuck and danger his life, threaten Morgan and Ellie, with more satisfaing way. Much more character story for Sarah, even if she is 'Old Sarah'. Still without changing anything in finale episode! Yeah... but only in my mind :P Still I love Chuck! I really miss the show :). Who knows maybe: Chuck Vs The Movie! So many stories to tell in one good movie. :)
It’s the eyes is the window thru your soul and the eyes of Sarah Walker tells it all,..I know it’s just an act by God how Yvonne portrayed how she feels thru those beautiful eyes make me wanna ask,..what’s an act versus the real thing...Just an act showing true Love...
Lol yeah this part destroy me because Sarah hoped He was already saying her "i love you" or kissing her for real.. btw every Chuck and Sarah scenes are awesome because of Zachary and Yvonne amazing skill... Just with the looks they can say everything, really great actors! And Chuck one of the best series ever. 😍😢
When he breaks up with her the second time there is an emotional catch in her voice ‘asking is that what you really want ?’ I loved her emotion in that. It betrays her cover as she told him how she feels. Then 10 minutes later he’s already regretting it. Her seduction mission and then Ellie and Awesome telling him he made a mistake.
At 3:40 the sentence she said tells us that for her, at least, she was in a real relationship, unfortunately Chuck never understood that. She loves him, he loves her but bad communication leads to three years of will they, won't they.
She always hinted at it. Forced to kiss wouldn’t be so bad . When she tells him save me “later” or it’s our second first date, meaning the dates weren’t fake to her. Casey and Karina both knew she liked Chuck right away. Ha ha.when she killed that fulcrum agent and Chuck saw it. He should have seen how upset she was. The man had threatened to kill the man she loved. So at 9:27 was Sarah going to tell Chuck that she was in love with him? She had something to tell him but then stalling again. Then she’s upset when he won’t move in with her. She was hoping being close that he would see how she feels. Took a few more episodes
They shone together. Everybody in the main cast had his/her role. Their team play made the show great and awesome. They were easily the best cast ever in a TV series. That won't be repeated. Chuck is gem made in heaven.
That series was great..BUT,i was hoping to never have seen the last season..And most of all THE LAST episode SCENE...The WORST"good" ending of all series..SO DISAPOINT.
They ended together, they were at the beach where almost all started, he kissed her and told their story to her. She knows she used to love Chuck and he loves her. So, it's not a bad end, it's an hopeful ending. 2 more episodes would have been great to finish a little better.
dude d ending was perfect. the season kinda sucked, the whole spy for hire thing didnt really look good at all... but that ending was perfect. cus making her get her memories back by some magical means would hv been unrealistic... ending it with the kiss was just perfect.... it meant... the future was up to them at that point
There was very little hope that that she would remember anything more than she had feelings for him. Not likely she was going to spend another 5 years getting back to where they were. It was more likely the writers attempt to get people to clamor for more, but clearly that failed in getting anything on the air all these years later.
The scene rips one´s heart out doesn´t it... there is an hd version on yt I believe, you can search for "Chuck speech Bon Iver Skinny Love" or something similar and you should find it. This scene really goes deep... and it is acted with perfection.
The purpose of this video is dead on. She has an amazing non-vocal talent. Unfortunately, this video was processed through a hairbrush so the details don't come through -- and that ruins it. So sad that the person who loaded it up used crummy software.
0:22 would it be so bad I’m sure I could suffer through it 2seconds later oh my god do you chew on raw garlic and fish fuck woman god damn?! Bleeeregghh!!!
Sarah was the show, without her and John the show it wouldn't have been the same, Chuck character was stupid and at time annoying, always put the other moron, Morgan, before Sarah, in many occasions he put his team's life in danger by not following orders.
Yeah, but think about it. Sarah and Casey tell chuck to stay in the car. Regardless of whether he does or not, something happens, he gets captured, Sarah and Casey try to rescue him, Chuck gets out of trouble then it's Casey and Sarah's turn to be captured and Chuck has to save them. Most episodes are built this way. Casey gets captured ? Sarah and Chuck to the rescue Sarah gets captured ? Chuck and Casey to the rescue Chuck gets captured? Sarah and Casey to the rescue. Sometimes changing the roles in who gets captured in succession in the same episode. If it didn't occured this way the show would be less funny. Chuck looks dumb and lead by emotions, but he also reads other people's emotions super easily. He correctly predicted Shaw's swiss cheese heart without proof, always teases Casey because he knows that under his cold persona Casey deeply cares about him and defused the coup d'état without the use of guns by repairing the relationship with the dictator and his wife.
Say what you what about Morgan but he was loyal to chuck and always had his back intersect or not. People that loyal don't come along often. The only time Morgan didn't was when he had the intersect and it was messing with his brain (which I wasn't a fan of when the writers did that). One could argue Sarah and Casey for awhile only dealt with chuck because he had the intersect and it wasn't til they learned about chuck personally that they really had loyalty to him.
