Love is Blue, written by French composer Andre Popp with lyrics by Pierre Cour. Love is Blue first came into the public eye when it was Luxembourg's entry in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. Sung by Vicky Leandros it finished 4th. In 1968 an instrumental version was recorded by Jeff Beck and released as the follow up single to "Hi Ho Silver Lining". The story goes that Jeff Beck didn't like the song at all so deliberately played slightly off key. He was being managed at the time by record producer Mickie Most who's main interest was to have hit singles. Jeff Beck's version of the song got to No. 23 on the UK charts.
Played here on a Harley Benton SC 450 P90 GT guitar with a backing track programmed with "Chordpulse". I added an orchestral sound with my Yamaha PSS F30 keyboard on the last verse.
The Harley Benton guitar is plugged into a Lekarto "Cube Baby" effects processer and recorded direct to PC via a USB.
