Apologies for the wrong version it appears the version you’re all talking about isn’t on streaming, we grabbed the long version we saw available on streaming, when Alex is back in town can do a vid checking out the proper version!

I was just going to post the same thing. The old version was not so bright sounding, and had much better vocal enhancement. They seem to have thrown that all away and enhanced the instruments.

Guys, haven't we been thru this enough? It's simple. Play the original ALBUM version. How many times do you have to make the same mistake before you learn? Edit: Props to A&A for the quick acknowledgement. Looks like an honest mistake, and I look forward to your reaction to the real version. You might have dropped the ball today, but you're still the best out there by far.

The album is not on streaming. It looks like they played the version from the Hits collection. I hardly think they deserve the abuse they're getting here, they tried to get the right version it just wasn't there.

A&A, thank you for the video and sharing your journey with us. The journey is not always smooth, and sometimes wrong turns are taken. You couldn’t have known that this was a wrong turn on the GPS. Been listening to classic rock radio for over 40 years and I’ve never heard this version. Don’t tell me that the original is gone and that this is what is left for posterity. It’s not just remastered, it’s been re-recorded.

The video of that song is hilarious, always loved The Tubes! Good post! "What do you want from life?" is another good one of theirs. "She's a Beauty" actually made the charts, I think...but a later departure from their earlier, crazier stuff.

Saw all of the comments about the album version. It'd been so long since I heard it. But I agree. It changes the whole dynamic of the song. Sort of a cross between PF "Animals" and Alan Parsons Project.

SWEET was my very first rock concert. They opened up for FOGHAT. Both were great. I'm now(62), and have been to so many more concerts, but that night was the COOLEST. A fan of SWEET in Hanover,PA👍🎶😁

While the original may be lower fidelity, it sounds SOOOO much better. The original is simply magical.... and this re-recording is just OK. I think bands like Sweet do this is because they don't own the original recording, so they re-record it to get better pay for purchases and streaming.

I don’t know where you guys found this version of the song, but it is not from the original album. It is a single edit version that cuts out the whole prog rock middle section of the song with guitar and keyboard solo. Even the mix on this one doesn’t sound like the original album. The album version of this song is about twice as long and much better than whatever this is.

As an 8th grader when this was released back in '78, I rocked out to this song. Still do. It's on my driving playlist. Back then I was driving my mom's Pinto LOL! Now a Mustang GT. Sounds like the shortened radio version.

Sweet had a perfect mix of hard rock and pop, and are probably responsible for the entire glam rock and metal movement of the 80's! Still they fucking rock, and you can't blame them for what was to come!

Yes, please on the LP version. To me, the background vocals in the chorus are affirming the singer, letting him know he is correct in his statement. Also please consider their hit Fox on The Run as well as No You Don't, which Pat Benatar later covered.

The drummer in the original version was Mick Tucker, who died much too early. He had incredible skills and was absolutely underrated as a drummer.

Years ago I had to buy a Sweet greatest hits import from the UK just to get the original extended version, I've no idea what version that was you reacted too. "Sweet- Love is like Oxygen (12" long version) is the RU-vid vid of the album cut.

Sweet's drummer Mick Tucker was one of the best in the business. The group was initially bound to do Glam Rock/Pop songs written by others. But when they did their own stuff they could really shine. You should check out their album 'Sweet Fanny Adams'. I love the drums on 'Rebel rouser'.

Truthfully I did not notice the version difference. But I do appreciate all the call outs. A&A barely pay attention to what people say about what versions and what songs to hit, so they have to be hollered at sometimes when it is glaringly wrong. A revisit of the right version later is not the same as a mediocre first reaction. I felt that from their horrid miss on Stevie Wonder's "Livin' for the City," in particular. There is just no excuse this late in the game to neglect original album versions. They have done over 60 albums by now, so they know what the differences are. So I consider it a teachable moment.

But also, key point, remember that this channel started years ago as Andy listening in full to entire, original ALBUMS by Pink Floyd, then Black Sabbath. And rather than be consistent in the quality of that selection process, they are getting sloppy like this instead, lately, is what I have observed. So they can either take the criticism constructively, or watch their fan base erode.
