This woman is 59 years old and still owns the stage. She sounds just as good now! Her and Rob Halford of Judas Priest has a duet out now you have to check out. Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.
My favorite Hard Rock/Metal band ever from Japan. Their first 4 albums are Classics. I saw them twice in the 80s. Amsterdam [ Netherlands ] Awesome show.
Warlock was the band Doro Pesch formed in (West) Germany as a teenager... they debuted in 1984 w/ the album 'Burning the witches'... Doro became an iconic female vocalist in heavy metal... 'Triumph and agony' in 1987 became Warlock's biggest record w/ MTV airing the 'All we are' music video, but the band had been replaced by session musicians ... Doro was at odds w/ their management and apparently furious when she realized that they had the rights to the name Warlock... the band split up soon after. Warlock songs - 'I rule the ruins' ... 'Burning the witches'... 'Fur immer' Relaunching her career w/ a new band Doro, she released 'Force majeure' in 1989... followed by the 'Doro' album in 1990... Neither sold commercially in the USA and Doro was dropped. They continued to record and tour Europe in the 90's as grunge rock decimated Doro's career. However, she was persistent and kept releasing Doro albums and toured Europe... In 2000, Doro released her 7th album 'Callin the wild' and it finally got Doro a US release after 10 years... even though Doro Pesch relocated to the USA, Doro has continued to record and tour to date... Some of Doro's songs - 'Dedication' ... 'Hard times' ... 'Always live to win' ... 'Unholy love'... 'Pain'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Doro is still recording and touring to this day under her own name DORO. she just did a duet with Rob Halford of Priest the song is Total eclipse of the heart. Doro is and always will be the Metal QUEEN
I rule the ruins is another great Warlock tune. For a softer take on Doro Look into 'Fur Immer' Both are great, and Doro is still rocking the festival circuit to this day.
Warlock was Doro's original band back in the 80s, but she went on to do Solo stuff under the name Doro and a couple of her latest songs are "Children of the Dawn" and "Time for Justice." Check those out. She's been doing the Mad Max post-apocalyptic themes in her solo career a lot.
Doro is the true metal queen. She has been called the female Dio. She loves her fans 100 percent. She is the sweetest , most down to earth rock star you can ever meet. I met her back in the early 80s. You should listen to the song " burning witches " live from the camden palace to see her in a live setting. She still tours and is worth seeing.
@@robertday1671If you're asking if they respond to comments, I don't think they have time anymore. They do read them though, so if you've made a suggestion that no one else has, they might not remember that as well as something that multiple people have suggested.
I definitely remember the anthemic chorus of this song, don't think I've heard it since the 80s and didn't know that Doro was the singer on this, really cool to hear this song again. 🎉
YEAH ...Doro Rocks!! She has a great catalog of songs under her name Doro. Suzi Quatro is the Queen of Rock... check her song 'Can The Can' out! 70s ...10yrs before Doro! You two wouldve fit right into the 70s n 80s life!
@@UncleDaffy313 and that. She has so many good songs. Her 1st album was her heaviest though (and best imo), thats why i recomended that one. Ive seen her live about 20 times now. She used to come here to Oz every 2yrs, and we'd always go. She loves Oz.
Interesting screamer i suppose but may one request you go back to july 1958 for an early shellac disc cut called In Spite Of All The Danger sung by them funny Quarrymen & composed by two upstarts McCartney & Harrison . They and one Lennon would change their name to the Silver Beatles ! 🐨
Jay...Doro P and Gene Simmons have a connection. He produced a solo album of hers, and did a KISS song from a KISS album The Elder. I believer it was Only You maybe. I might be wrong on the song. But she is right up your 80s alley.
It’s interesting how location matters so much in the case of some bands popularity. Doro headlines, festivals in Europe, but plays in local bars in the United States. She’s just like Udo, from accept. By the way, play some Udo, preferably live
PLEASE do a reaction video to Kobra and the Lotus. They're a Heavy Rock Band out of Canada. Two great songs are "You Don't Know" or "Light Me Up," The band is fronted by Kobra Paige, a beautiful female singer with great chops.
The Queen of Metal!!! Great pick. I remember seeing the debut of the video on Headbanger's Ball. Another great female-fronted band you need to check out is Saraya. Sandy Saraya has a more bluesy delivery. Think Alannah Myles with a healthy splash of Doro to add some punch. "Love Has Taken It's Toll" is a great tune. The main riff is killer. Give it a listen.
The Saraya album, is one of the best debut albums released in the late 80s. With a fem. singer. Along with the Private life album from 88. Produced by Eddie Van Halen.
Doro -Angels with dirty faces, I rule the ruins, also check out Mago de oz - Molinos de vientos. And another German bands Axxis - Kingdom of the night, Pink Cream 69 welcome the night has an amazing guitar riff
Nice reaction! Doro is a German metal legend! She had some collaborations with Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead, they were friends… after he died, she got a bullet containing a part of Lemmy‘s ash… he organised this only for his best friends! Touching! Check out Doro with Lemmy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x3X96HnI5hk.htmlsi=2_Ymce31xVXcmNNK Greetings from Germany 🤘
Suggested Doro/Warlock a while back, so glad to see you checked it out. Her first solo album was a beast entitled Force Majeure. Since you loved this, try her solo song, "Angels with Dirty Faces".
Warlock was a great heavy metal band of the 80s, and Doro Pesch has always been considered one of the greatest female rock voices of that time, one of those voices from the old school of Bonnie Tyler's heirs. If you want to hear more from her, I recommend you react to another true gem of the band, "Für Immer" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jUHrVeKYGfo.html), in which her great voice is much better appreciated. I saw her play in concert a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that she still has an impressive voice. And, since you like that great 80's rock so much, I also recommend you react to another wonderful song, also with a female vocalist, such as "Nowhere fast" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ClnN_s2VGV0.html ), a great great song by a band, Fire Inc, that was created exclusively for the performance of two songs on the soundtrack of a legendary 80's movie, "Streets of Fire". In it you will hear the voice of another great singer, Laurie Sargent, with backing vocals by Holly Sherwood and Rory Dodd.
She has a new band now and still rocking it . She and Rob Halford of Judas Priest released a cover of Total Eclipse Of The Heart last year. From last year Children of The Dawn ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A857YBw8u30.htmlfeature=shared
Like some have mentioned here, think about doing the new duet with Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Doro. Total Eclipse of the Heart. Just recently released. Last year.
Unfortunately Warlock never achieved the success they deserved. Doro launched a solo carer shortly after this. Gene Simmons produced her first solo album. Fight for Rock is another Warlock song you should check out.
I just turned 65 and have had serious back problems the past few years and started really Listening to the music of my younger days. I have not listened to much music since I got out of the Navy in 1990 because to me music had gone down hill. I enjoy watching younger people react to music I ❤ed years ago. I also found some younger BANDS that ROCK instead of in my opinion todays garbage.
Love Warlock and Doro. Great pick. Doro has gone on to a long solo career. Doro is short for Dorothea. I met Doro after a show. She stays and signs everyone's autographs. She is so nice and loves her fans. You'll have to do "I rule the ruins" next.
If you love Warlock. There is a newish/er power metal group that you might really like. Their name is Battle Beast, I would suggest maybe starting with the songs Eden or Neuromancer.
Another awesome female fronted 80’s metal band is Chastain. They’re like an even heavier Warlock. Leather Leone does great on vocals, and they have David T Chastain shredding the guitar.
After Warlock splitted Doro were not allowed to use the name. So they changed it to DORO. Warlock's album "Triumph and Agony" is real banger and (for me) a milestone in female metal. Try “Kiss of Death" from the same album. Greetings from Germany 🤘😊
Yeah. Rocken with Dokken. One of my favorite Hard Rock bands from the 80s. Kiss Of Death, Heaven Sent, Unchain The Night, In My Dreams, The Hunter Tooth And Nail. Soo many Great songs.
I’m shocked y’all finally got to Doro & Warlock….I dug that song during the Headbangers Ball days on MTV….she went solo & had some great tunes as well! Try out “Unholy Love”, “I’ll Be Holding On”, “Love Me in Black” & “I Rule the Ruins”…and yes Amber, I was obsessed with Doro & her music….kikass reaction y’all 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
On MTV there was a show called HEADBANGERS BALL and I must have been about 15-16 when this was out and I thought it was so awesome! This is is not a female fridays song to react to but since you are looking at European hard rock bands you need to react to a band called D.A.D. The name is actually pretty dumb (Disney After Dark). But they eventually just became known as D.A.D. after some conflict with Disney. The song to react to is - "Sleeping My Day Away". Such a great tune and a really good band from Denmark.
I always liked the baby doll and real tight. Real type wizard pines by u. T today at the Post Office, I was just blocked baby doll. Cowboy boats top blue jeans. No buttons on her shirt and a cowboy hat. And she was stomping and bumping to say oh u.N.T.R.Y country music , it gives me a steffy
Beautiful song. Colin Blunstone has a incredible voice. I,m a 70s and 80s Rocker. But i love ballads like this. With lots of emotion and from the heart.
The metal anthem of the 80's. From the album, triumph & agony. A great ballad on that album you need to check out is, Fur immer (translation, for ever). It is sung in German but definitely worth a look, you'll love it ❤😊
Rob Halford is the Metal God and Doro is the Metal Goddess! I was blessed to see Warlock in a 3,000 seat theater back in the day, I was in love and blown away! She recorded that song before she could speak English very well! She's still rocking.
Doro has always and rightfully been known as the Metal Queen. She's constantly touring and has headlined the biggest metal festival, Wacken, more than once. This song is a little bittersweet because it was Warlock's 4th studio album and this song should have and probably would have been the starting point for Warlock to really take off but they spilt with the manager and (somehow legally) took the name Warlock. So Doro had to start all over again and the record company had to convince her to use her own name because she never wanted to do that. After YEARS in court, she finally won and was able to buy back the rights to the name Warlock so she owns it again. I've been lucky enough to know her and the guys in the band and crew and call them friends for about 15 years now. She's is literally the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. To me, she's the greatest singer of all time. I call her the female version of Dio. Ive seen her perform in at least 6 states, on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, in England (London and Manchester), in Spain, and just last year, in her hometown of Dusseldorf, Germany for her 40th anniversary concert. Great singer, great performer, great woman.
