They definitely do communicate, but it takes place in Book 2. It can only really happen once Maxi is sure of herself, advocates for herself, and is able to express herself more confidently. It also takes time for Riftan to heal from what transpired between them too.

This is so amazing!! :D I feel bad for Riftan and Maxi though...Maxi doesn't want to be locked up in and do nothing her whole life but meanwhile Riftan just wants to keep her safe, even though both sides aren't really wrong, I just feel as if they're both trying to protect each other.

love fan made projects, the animation isn't bad and goes smoothly. The way the Maxi voice actress plays her is lovely and voices her emotions so beautifully. For Riftan voice actor though, I feel like he definitely can do better right now it feels like he's just plainly reading off script word for word instead of giving the emotions in his voice. Overall this was very lovely to see and watch, good job.
