sadly they cancelled the MG Age-3, Age-FX, and Gafran, they are awesome designs, as for the anime, as bad it is, it still introduced a new concept to Gundam which is three generations of a family fighting the same war which to me is like a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure thing but sadly executed poorly, imagine if Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and Stardust Crusaders together being compressed into just 50 episodes and you know why.
I liked the designs of all the four main Gundams from Gundam Age. It's sad that Bandai cancelled the master grade production of the Age-3 and Age-FX due to the show's low ratings.
I just saw how much the titus was on Japanese amazon! 😣😣😣 Which is so weird because I bought my titus for 1700 yen from a Bargain bin in Akihabara a few months after it came out! Should have got the spallow too!
Mecha Gaikotsu ever since you put a ‘sneak review’ on age 1 normal in the age 2 magnum review if I remembered it correctly, I’ve been looking for this kit, with no luck. Well, better move on I guess, haha.
Believe it....Bandai someday would rerelease it....like they did to HG Geminas and First Grade gunpla with new molds...and also old kit like HG wing series...
Hey Mecha! There's a MG AGE kit you forgot to fully review. That is the MG AGE-2 Double Bullet. You only had just unboxed it. Pls make a review on it! It at least has been 3 or more years since you made the part 1 of the kit!
Gundam Age was my first experience with Gundam and Gunpla. The High Grade Age 1 Normal and Age 1 Titus are the first 2 model kits I've ever built. Since then, the Age 1 Normal's arms are broken and Age 1 Titus' legs are also broken. Someday I need to get their Master Grade versions to give them the justice they truely deserve
It is kind of funny... He designed both mechs for both series and yet so many people hate on AGE because it looks simpler, and apparently that makes it 'kiddier', than the 00 designs. Honestly G-AGE reminds me so much of what early Gundam series look like. Though less Bishounen than some of them...
AGE-1 sure looks like RX-78, maybe the things that make AGE series feel cildish is the character design, i mean they have to be a pilot on such a young age
Well, not only MG scale, this kit in scale HG 1/144 itself was a great kit.simple kit,not much weaponary set or backpack but great articulations...i really love this kit
The AGE line is a top tier model kit line and have fantastic designs. People have been sleeping on that series for YEARS. Not I though, I'm WOKE AF!! Also, booo shadow legends.
Gundam Age has kinda weird and unique design, It's like teenage version of Grandaddy gundam I think since Gundam 00 Bandai/Sunrise start experimenting some new Gundam design
I would say that started with G Gundam... Though most series tone down the craziness to fit more in the Real Robot sub-genre instead of the Super Robot sub-genre. Heck, G-00 was essentially a modernized, and a bit realistic in its idealism, version of G-Wing. (Small number of custom super powerful mobile suits named Gundams fighting to try and accomplish a major goal and ultimately try to end all wars in the Earth Sphere.) I think the main issue is G-00 got so many people into Gundam then it was followed by a series closer to the older series. Kind of like how people who were introduced by G-Gundam & G-Wing reacted to SEED & Destiny or how those introduced by the 2 SEED series reacted to G-00.
@@jedisalamander2457 I actually bought it last week from a local hobby shop in my city, and i think many collectors here are not very interested in this kit
How timely! I’m watching through AGE for the first time and started looking into what Gunpla were made from it since I’m really enjoying it. Glad to see this seems like such a winner! Time to add it to the backlog.
I LOVED building this kit. And I would absolutely love to see them make the new Gundam Build Divers variant with the funnels. I should get the other two variants of this kit regardless.
My Gundam obsession started when my brother got me the RG Exia for Christmas last year. Oh man, the detail, the parts, the engineering, the craftsmanship required to build a kit + the real feeling of accomplishment once you've completed it really does something for me. I've since purchased the MG RX-78-02 and built it to completion with the additions of paneling as well as Gundam markers (base/metallic sets +ex chrome) man it's crazy how personal you can make these models. It's part modelling, part crafting, part engineering and assembly it's too fun
Honestly G-AGE felt like a throwback to MSG, Zeta, ZZ, and oddly G-Wing with its art style... The main difference was it went less Bishounen for its characters unlike G-Wing. Edit: The tab on the sabers is because in the original plan this unit would share sabers with other units that would use hands like the recent RG's & MG's IIRC. The ones where the hand is split in two and the fingers/thumbs are able to be popped off to hold things. In fact for a short time there were optional hands compatible with the AGE-1 to make it have that type of hand. The main issue with the AGE kits for me was they were made in a time when Bandai was having great ideas but weren't including them in production kits yet. Mainly these ideas were tested in options kits and kits for non-Gundam franchises. Edit2: Also I really want an RG kit of all 4 main AGE Gundams and their wear kits... I might even accept them being P-Bandai. Especially if Bandai follows through with making P-Bandai available in other countries like they hinted at last year. Apparently it ties into them creating/expanding Gundam Base Centers, not only Gundam focused stores with a plethora of merchandise but also Arcades for Gundam Games, in other countries. Edit3: That drop out section @15:20 is for the Spallow's Sword and something else that was supposed to be released later on. Sadly... It apparently never will be released.
Just ordered this bad boy from my usual hobby store. They got it back in stock alongside a bunch of other MGs I’ve been chasing and I bit the bullet on this over the other ones like the Jegan and Heavyarms. So hyped to build it
Ah the MG AGE-1 kit. Took me a while to build that but only because I went all out on panel lining, decals, AND spraying a matt finish top coat on it. And boy did it ever look good. I grabbed the AGE-1 for similar reason: the color scheme and design is very retro-ish to the ol' RX-78-2. I've been meaning to do other gunpla kits that I got over the years but I really really REALLY need to get them started and planned out.
My first Gundam anime and Gunpla was the AGE series. Man, it gives me so many amazing memories when I reminisce about how the HG kit boxart. I wish I could get an HG AGE-1 NORMAL rn
i just love this kit.. the articulation were superb, a unique cockpit mechanism that only this kit had... a must have i can say.. 🥰🥰 still hoping for mg age 3.. ☹️
At the moment I'm posting this comment on the 09.11.2021, the store Rise of Gunpla from France currently has this model in stock, I just got one from them and the price was pretty good. If you're looking for one, maybe you can get it from them depending on when you see this comment. Good luck!
The HG AGE-1 also seems really good. For a kit released in 2011, it has double jointed elbows and knees, very few stickers (just the black kneecaps for color correction), a grey part for the back of the shield, and a double premium butt flap. Yes, a double premium butt flat on a High Grade.
I have the Spallow and it is great! One of my favorites. Age was a good series over all and I was hoping to get the MG of my favorite form of each of the Age gundams. I have Age-1 Spallow and Age-2 Dark Hound, but unfortunately Age-3 never got an MG, so I couldn't get me an Age-3 Orbital. Boo
Don't know if you already knew this but one minor cool feature is that you can actually fit the standing pilot on that opening hatch of the cockpit (13:43).
The aesthetic or visual profile of the back spoiler on AGE is I think why I like the Aile Striker pack and similar packs for Seed mobile suits - almost lends them a bit of a Valkyrie/Veritech flair.
I actually want this kit really badly. I own the HG and honestly the Age 1 Normal is great no matter what. Anyone feel free to link me a good way to pick up the MG!
Oh my god I wish Bandai would reprint the AGE kits more often. Amazon says HG Titus at $80, the HG 1Normal at $30, and the HG Spallow at $45! This is all from Bandai’s seller account. The MG are next to impossible to find.
Hey the beam sabers probably have that tab hole maybe because of an injection molding limitation. It keeps the wall thickness of the part low so it won't warp when it comes out of the mold. If it didn't have the hole/slot, there's more of a mass of plastic to warp.
I have a silver sharpie in my build box specifically for clear parts that don't have a reflective sticker for under them. Bandai, if you can do it for the SDCS Zaku, there's no excuse on your standard hg and mg kits.
the age 1 HG was the first gunpla I built I got it from HLJ when they had the special offer where you get the magazine blade variant. I love how simplistic and awesome it is .... sadly lost few armor parts and an arm and for the heck of me cant find them.
Really wish we got an MG Full Glansa, or the Age-3 variants. The Normal and FX were prototyped, but why weren't they produced? Was the Age-2 really THAT bad?
Almost done with this kit. Trying to put on the stickers. It’s my first MG. I saw this in a shop after watching this video. I don’t have a ton of experience, built some Gundam 00 NGs, and various SDs, and HGs. This kit has some problems. The biceps have a short peg that falls out easily when trying to pose it. The cockpit and chest vents are a pain to put together. The shoulders are hard to keep in place when putting on the arms. The skirt, like he shows in the video, is hard to keep together. Seems like this kit would benefit from having some cement around. And, this is probably more my inexperience, the stickers were so infuriating to put on. I bought this as practice for an MG Rx-78-2 Ver. 2 kit I got for Christmas. I don’t think I’m ready for that, yet. Maybe I’ll try a new MG first. I’d just feel bad about doing a bad job on the kit I got as a gift.
This kit is one i want to get along with the Titus & Spallow. I've wanted all 3 even before i started thinking about getting all Master Grades of Protagonist MS even though some lack one. (G-Self, Build Burning, 00 Diver, etc) I quite like the AGE-1's design.
Your review is incredible, as incredible is this Gunpla! I fell in love with this kit, I hope to find and buy it! Have a nice day and I wish you to stay safe! See you next time!
Hi mecha I dont comment much on your videos but I just wanted to say thanks for helping me fine a hobby in gunpla and model kitsch as a whole especially now they're a great way for me to pass the time hopefully soon I'll be getting some of the 30mm kits anyways stay safe and thank you once again
If the AGE 1 is the original gundam, does that mean that the AGE FX is the Nu/Unicorn gundam? Edit: I find the gundam designs nostalgic because I used to watch Gundam AGE when I was young.😌
I love the way you review all this awesome gunpla .. now im a fan . Hehe ive been watching all your videos this past few months . I wish you can give me some of your kits .. hehehe like a christmas gift hehehe
Been following you for a while now and you have awesome reviews. I had the chance to watch gundam Age and at 4:50 all the venting did appear so it is anime accurate. hehe planning to get this kit soon. Wish you had reviews on other MG Unicorn gundams aside from MGEX just to see if you have other alternatives. 🙂
@@nediojon749 That switch to genocidal leader ruined the first season of Gundam age and and nearly destroyed flit’s relations with his family. Also, I think the AGE system should be mass produced for every EFF pilot to build and pilot their own MS.
I also think that every Federation grunt suit, including the Adele, should be equipped with the age system and have its associated age device. It would make building, piloting and upgrading easier and faster for the pilots, mechanics and engineers! 25 years is a bit too long for a grunt MS to be manufactured.
