I totally agree. Men don't open up and talk or show this level of transparency often....especially on a public platform like this. So when they do I definitely have to tune in and listen to what they have to say.

The age of the woman definitely plays a part in dating. When I was 22 years-old I had a different mindset than I did when I was 38 years-old.

@kay Jay, He might be referring to how she was raised. In her culture they may be raised to get married early. She does have a 7 year old do she might be looking for a father for her child. I do agree with you. I graduated from college at 24 and was living my best life. Marriage and children were the last thing on my mind. Traveling and dating was what I was enjoying back then.

I only disagreed with one part. The young man who said he had to leave a good woman because he wasn’t ready was right to do. The point another man made was something along the lines of holding on to good people for dear life. If you know you aren’t good for a person, let them go so they can be good on their own or with someone else. It’s not fair to hurt good people especially when you’re doing it intentionally, because you don’t want to let them go. That’s selfish. But, this was a great conversation!

Yes, my son was going through this. I told him to get himself together 1st. Then he can have a better way of seeing what he needs and can give another person. It isn't fair to the other person. This is a great conversation.

But I’m so grateful for this conversation, Rodney’s story actually helped me put into perspective a relationship that I had with a guy with similar feelings. The guy in the white has a very strong point---- at a certain time (age) in a woman's life, she seeks men who have a solid economic foundation. It doesn't mean that they're not willing to build something with the man, it just makes the man a more suitable option for immediate partnership.
@ahmorgan
@ahmorgan Год назад
And this is pretty rational. You'd expect adults to have some form of stability in their lives.
@RDCFemmes
@RDCFemmes Год назад
I'm still bafgled that in the black american community, this has to be explained. Men provide, it's standard no if or no but. In other communities, you will be shamed for wanting to debate such a basic issue.
@ahmorgan
@ahmorgan Год назад
@Pesi Belau that's not what's baffling. For me it's how black women only view men as means of extracting resources. You can tell most black women did not grow up with a loving supportive father. The only thing a man can do is pay their bills and give them sex. No support, no protection, no wisdom, no love. This is the issue because when you make relationships transactional but somehow still expect empathy and compassion it will always fail. Most black women legitimately have no clue what a solid partner looks like, so they learn from media (Bags, Benz's and the Bahamas are the gauge of love and stability for black women).
@ahmorgan
@ahmorgan Год назад
He does and most people think that's fair. I wouldn't concern myself with the opinions of women I have no interest in dating but many women seem to be held handicap by men they deem insufficient. If you don't like him, of course he's going to have a rebuttal. It's almost like you want him to accept your perception of his own value. If he's not for you, why does his opinion of your preferences matter?

Modern black women really bother me, because since the beginning of time black people have always survived together.....Grandmomma & Grandaddy met each other in the gutter and climbed out of the mud hand-in-hand...... Modern women love to scoffe at that level of committment and call it struggle love and see it as beneath them to help a man build a 🏰 and instead they feel that they're the 👸🏽 Princess who should be able to simply move in.

When the man in the blue hat touched on the topic of grief in connection to love. I really resonated with that. I see parts of myself in the man in the white jacket…. I am so afraid to love again solely because of the pain I felt previously, but now realizing the connection between love and grief….. the fact that even after all the grief I experienced I still choose to believe in love is truly profound and I should be proud of that. Love exists because we do. It just sucks that sometimes we don’t appreciate it until it’s gone. It will come again… but only if we are brave enough to let it in. Thank you for this! ❤

I really get tired of people attaching maturity to age, like are y’all really still doing that? Have y’all not seen that age doesn’t equate to maturity by now ? There are ppl who are older & still move as if they are in middle school | high school. Stop making it seem like younger women can’t possibly have the mindset of wanting to settle down, if anything you men are the one’s who love to still act “ Young” the older you get, still be trying to hang with the younger population & go out with them. Just let people be who they are without attaching age to everything. There are women who are married at a young age & is doing well. Just as much as men who are married & is doing well. It has nothing to do with age, it’s about your mindset & how you carry yourself. Wisdom doesn’t come with just age, wisdom also comes with experiences & things you just naturally understand because you already have been born with the gift of gab. Y’all men be the most immature mfs out here & wanna bring age into it when it’s a older dude dating a younger woman. Keep dating your older women & let that man date his. Sometimes you don’t even purposely date a certain age, you can meet a person and they just so different then when you find out their age it’s just that. It’s nothing more to that. You shouldn’t allow yourself to stop from connecting because of someone being younger than you.
