You have just made me a fan of video tutorials! This was a very helpful tutorial that I believe will make my dolly shoes look much better. Thank you so, so much.
Thanks Chris! Your tips were wonderful and the video was worth a thousand words. This will help me in creating more shoe fashions! I am a Liberty Jane partner and have many of the Love U Bunches patterns that I use in my Tiny Trusew Etsy shop. I hope you do more videos.
Nicely done! I've made several pairs of these shoes...and can see that I missed the step of spreading the glue on the sole so that it covers all the edges. That will make a big difference! Thank you for publishing this!
thank you so much, I have this pattern, and can't wait to make shoes! BTW, I also have a kitty helper, she has a special bed on my sewing table, and loves to be with me when I am sewing, LOL!
The pattern I received is smaller than the one I see you using to make the shoes. I've only made one shoe but it will not fit my journey girl doll. Do you cut all the pieces bigger than the actual pattern pieces?
Hi Nina! I get this questions a lot. Most of the questions I receive about the shoes are related to construction after Step 7, like cutting the foam and attaching the soles, not so much the sewing described in the previous steps. It also made my video shorter in length... And now get ready to laugh. My husband is the camera man. He takes his job very seriously and tries not to breathe while he is videoing. At the end of this video he was pale and sweating! Had to sit down and recover What a guy!
I love how you made this a doable project; I will actually try shoes again; hot glue did not give me the opportunity to make it "look nice". Thank you for sharing! Pat
I've been making shoe for years from patterns and never like any of them. the pattern were not so precise as your video. I bought your shoe beginner / intermediate which impressed me. I understand so much from the video and am glad you girls added the utube location. so glad I watched it. thank you for helping me on this consuming project.
THANK YOU so much for the wonderful and informative tips as they certainly can save a lot of aggravation ... ☺. Also want to add; as I am 'very' hard of hearing I appreciated how clearly you spoke. Sincerely
Chris I know you may not do this anymore, but I a have question that I think you may be able to help me with. Here is the problem is there a way around the bumps that come from the leather being bumpy using hot glue? Cause hot glue doesn't allow leather to lay flat. Have the alileen glue, but fumes may be too strong for me. If possible can you do a video using that glue with leather? Would be highly appreciated. By the way your video is awesome & helped me along the way.
