A unique song from them. The symphonic and progressive parts makes it stunning. From latest release, so hope to see more of this. Another proof they can handle anything
Miyako’s genius. What’s more amazing, even in the technological age, is how the whole EP was recorded. Because of the C word, apparently the three guitarists played and recorded their pieces in their own home studios (of which I believe Miyako’s is the most replete with tech). Only Asami and Haruna recorded in the studio, and even then probably separately. What I love about this band (seventeen thousand words deleted) is that Miyako, tries to compose music that she or the others are not yet completely capable of playing. They then practice their fingers raw until they are, and record. That’s why they will take their own bar and raise it so high most bands won’t be able to see it without the aid of a telescope. Only recently, in between raising a child, losing weight gained during pregnancy and writing music, Miyako told us on Twitter that she was trying to (and succeeding) increase her picking speed. The bass player better be prepared for musical boot camp.

Miyako wrote this as a tribute to Beethoven. She even wrote it in the style of a sonata - an opening, 3 movements, and a coda (ending). There are some segments from Beethoven's "Pathatique Sonata," however the first and third movement have a lot of segments from the 3rd movement of his "Moonlight Sonata." There are some areas where it matches almost note by note. A lot of times, Beethoven wrote the second movement of his sonatas in a very dissonant style, and Miyako did that in her second movement - those massive guitar solos that Miyako and Midori played are some of the most dissonant pieces of music I've ever heard Lovebites play. The first movement of the "Moonlight Sonata" (which everyone knows and loves) expresses Beethoven's melancholy over his loss of hearing, but the third movement expresses his absolute rage over it. Miyako, as a classically trained pianist certainly knows that information. I find it interesting that she didn't use the first movement that everyone is familiar with, but instead went with the lesser known third movement. She wanted to express rage, not melancholy. This composition could only be written by something who is very familiar with classical music and Beethoven; it could also only be written by someone who totally understands music and music theory. If someone wants proof that Miyako is a musical genius, they only need to listen to this song.

I can name 10 songs by Lovebites, each a masterpiece. Dystopia Symphonia is THE masterpiece. All credit goes to Miyako for composing this song. By the way, 5:04 that base line is evil. Beat that :)
A powerful composition by "The Golden Touch" herself Miyako and Asami writing the lyrics, I still say it is quite reminiscent of Dream Theater in the very prog-metal sense. I have said a thousand times to better enjoy the music it is so much better to listen and absorb all of its beauty, it is amazing to see the musicians do their thing but it takes away from the actual song by not concentrating to all of its elements.

Another great LOVBITES song, but ASAMI sounds even better when she sings in Japanese, as in BRAVEHEARTED. Try, “MONO SUGOI” (more sugoi than sugoi), or SAIKOU (the very best).
This is Trans Siberian Orchestra on mega steroids (without the chit chat they do). This EP of 5 songs is the best EP I have ever heard, four of the songs I've listened to being masterpieces in their own right. I will admit I have yet to listen to No Time To Hesitate, the 5th and final song for me to listen to on this EP. Hey - let me request you react to it and then I can join you on a first listen (unless you already have reacted to it and I missed it). You already know I am on the exact same page you are with Lovebites EASILY being my all time favorite band. The style of the individual solos just a bit different than many of their others, and totally epic. And then they harmonize in ridiculous fashion. I absolutely love the keyboards!! Keith Emerson used to be my favorite artist until Miyako came along. She does something Keith never did, and that's play guitar at the same prodigy level that she does with piano (which Keith was just spectacular at, better than Rick Wakeman IMO). This is elite level composition (aren't all their songs that?). Lovebites are a pure mix of multiple genres of metal. This song and Paranoia are their best deep tracks to date (no music video or played live).
