Musicians react to hearing LOVEBITES - Today is the Day (Heavy Metal Never Dies, 26/03/2021) 

Lovebites: my eternal flame. As far as Metal goes: Life couldn't be better.

"Today is the day" is one of my fav Lovebites songs, it has a really infectious main riff. This concert was performed back in 2021 during the middle of the pandemic and it was COVID-restricted. The audience was fully-masked and was only allowed to clap. On top of that, Miyako was 4-5 months pregnant at that point in time.

Welcome back to Lovebites. This concert was performed under strict Covid regulations with only 50% audience capacity, mandatory masks and no shouting or Cheering. Miyako was several months pregnant at the time giving birth to a daughter later that year. Asami also had a baby not too long after. These girls are tough !

Hello, greetings from a veteran Spanish subscriber. A tremendous song, of course. The great M&Ms have left me impressed. I don't know what to say about them anymore, I don't find among men such an imaginative and virtuous duo. Haruna and Miho, as always, driving the locomotive with speed and safety and Asami......spectacular voice, ideal for these girls and really beautiful...I couldn't stop looking at her, she is an operations director who dominates the stage to perfection.

Thanks guys, this is one of my favourites from Lovebites, and hasn't always had the attention it deserves. That sequence in the final verse when Haruna smiles at the camera while doing repeated stick twirls is priceless. She's like, wow this song is a doddle, I can chill out! It seems effortless, and yet she keeps up that pace up for 2 hours, just remarkable. Add the M&M solos and Asami on piano, and this one's a winner.

Miyako's solo is just downright beautiful. Then notice that pinch harmonic Miyako throws on with her backing rhythm during Midori's solo. It's just as Midori is finishing the first half of it and Miyako adds a pinch harmonic that accents it perfectly.

You're wrong on the Dean Miyako is playing. I have the EXACT same guitar from the same limited edition run. The guitar came with the 3 pickups exactly as you see it here. It is a Dean ML Switchblade made in 2010 and 100 were made in a limited edition run - mine is #60. As far as I know her guitar is unmodified.

All of them can play piano, we've seen Asami playing some notes in 3 songs ("Today Is The Day", "We The United", "Lost In The Garden"), and Miyako is the one at piano concert level. But they've learned it all quite early, e.g. Midori started at age of 2 (18 years before guitar), Miyako at 3.
