Fami's live debut on bass. She fits right in.🤘🤘If you didn't know, you couldn't tell she only joined last October. Knocking on Heaven's Gate is the new concert DVD, scheduled to be released Aug 23. The song is from their first album, Awakening From Abyss. In concerts past, they would play the intro piece, The Awakening as a lead in to this. Those are the 1st 2 tracks on the record. Haruna is a beast on drums, Asami's vocals keep getting better. Midori, the guitarist you said won't take any shi*t, is into competition bodybuilding. The guitarist with the long dark hair is Miyako, check out her piano skills- Swan Song (with Chopin piano intro) live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020.
I say it everywhere it's the best band in the history of metal by their creativity, their individual and collective technique, their versatility. In addition, these young women are refreshingly humble.
Ive just watched a reaction to Mettalica and musically they are not in the same league as Lovebites all nive of them are excellent musicians and song writers. The dark haired guitarist is Miyako who is also a concert level pianist playing from the age of 3.
The little big engine Haruna the drummer is a 4'9" giant, and is arguably one of the best drummers in the world today, as flawless and consistent as a metronome in fast tempo🤘🎸🎤🎹🥁🐺
Lovebites, this was perfection, as usual. But that little face of between Fami and Midori, and that smile from Asami to Fami with the thumbs up. Was priceless. I cant get over how good Fami is. Ive seen bassist with decades of experience. That are not nearly as good.
Fami is simply a genius on the bass guitar. She *commands* it. Her outer size does not matter at all. I saw a promo video of her, here on YT. Jaw-dropping. Young female Paganini, re-incarnated. What Fami plays here, is just a warming-up for her. In her regular mode, she gets "insane" (in the nice way) on the bass. And her happy smile: absolutely infectuous. Just watch "Stand and deliver" (rehearsal footage), it is the same there. She definitely has the time of her life. What a stroke of luck for Lovebites.
Welcome back guys.. Do some more.. There is lots to see.. and it's all right up there. Take a look at Aldious as well.. Reincarnation live is a good place to start.. Best wishes from France
Effortless....they were on hiatus for 2 years and this is there new bassist 20 y.o. Fami showing that she fits right in with this insane talent group especially LIVE which many of us Wolfpack members were concerned about. Shame on us for ever doubting these women, if they picked you for the group then you have to be insanely talented. They looked so happy to be back on stage and the energy really shows. Haruna on drums just killed that kit, how it lasted through the entire set is beyond me and the sound, set and production is top notch here. This show will drop with a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray shortly and if this is the start, one can only imagine where the end will be, that is if you survive to the end. Miyako just put out an EP of 6 metal songs she reworked into piano pieces (Deep Purple, Metallica, Gary Moore, Helloween , etc..) it is just a stunning piece of musicianship but then again it is LB so you know the level of musicianship that means. As I always say these petite women inspire but for the musicians out there they can completely intimidate. Waiting for a North/South American tour in 2024, I feel really bad for whatever band has to go on tour with these ladies. They need Asterism or some other great Japanese band with them but that would destroy the Metal scene here in the States (LOL).
This was the new bass player's first ever concert with Lovebites, and first large concert of any kind. She's 21 years old! Fami - the nuclear power cell of smiles, joy and energy! Notice Fami slaps those two bass solo sections (whci the original bass player, Miho, played finger style) and the bass/drum section after the solos is a joy... Asami's look of support and delight, followed by a thumbs up to Fami. Not only did Lovebites make the perfect choice, Fami BELONGS in Lovebites. The energy is radiating from all members. Haruna's playing is incredible here and her drums sound amazing and of course M&M kill on guitar as you'd expect... but notice Miyako seems invigorated!!! She's moving around, head-banging even, more so than I ever remember seeing. "We're back!" Hell yes, you are! GO! Oh, and Asami sounds better than EVER!
Thank you so much for appreciating Lovebites. 😊 Outstanding performance, outstanding vibe, musical excellence. What a stroke of luck for Metal - and for the audience. Stay positive, stay tuned! 😊 🐺
Thank you for this concert version of Hammer of Wrath. Oh no, they are smiling and enjoying these mesmerizing play and singing flawlessly with high confidence on their faces and postures. We are in!
A remarkable moment for Lovebites and also for Lovebites fans! Asami screams "WE ARE BACK" at the opening of the song - maybe because it has been a while, they haven't played in a concert since Miho left the band (2021). By the way, M & M (Midori and Miyako, the 2 leading guitar players), they are both splendid, extraordinary, and also have different personalities and styles that complement each other very well. Above all, far from competing with each other, they highlight each others work. It's a wonderful partnership! You should listen do 'Shadowmaker', "Frozen serenade" and "Swan song (with Chopin intro)". I think these are nice examples of what I'm saying. Also, this is the very first live video with the new bass player - Fami! She is just 20 y.o.!!! Thanks for reacting!
Haruna would be stoked if she was 5' 4"; gaining 7in. 🤣 They're F badass...it's that simple. The new DVD release is going to be brutally awesome! Like you, fingers crossed for a US Tour...in '24 hopefully! 🤘
The reason it works so well is because Lovebites' music is unique. This track is primarily thrash with, as you've mentioned, influences from the likes of Megadeth. Having said that, there's also the speed-power element a la Iron Maiden (without the gallop in this case). Therefore, the ladies innovatively blend multiple genres/sub-genres to make the sound their own. If you want to experience another side of Lovebites with a slower tempo song, I recommend "A Frozen Serenade" LIVE : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ae8pQVu-RN8.html
Great reaction. Effortless comes from insane attention to detail by Lovebites. This group is as great as any metal band of the past and with over 60-70 excellent originals the argument could be made for them being the best metal/hard rock band in history! While they have been influenced by many metal bands of the past they stand alone with the excellence and variety of their discography.
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES. Keep LOVEBITES in your future. Asami(Vo) has been studying classical ballet from the age of 2 to 18. Asami (Vo) was originally an R&B and soul singer. She had never listened to metal music at all, which she says was "music from another dimension. I have always felt that Asami is both a vocalist and an actress. Asami can sing in a variety of ways depending on the song. She has a wide range of belts from low to high(e5), and is able to perform them with certainty.
Now together again on Lovebites comments, they're the best, no doubt, with this new bassist, she slap that bass fast and amazing, this band become faster and faster, please give us your best comment, check how crazy Midori on Break The Wall, live 2021, thank you
Lovebites, Band Maid and Nemophila from Japan are not bands with which you make a reaction video or from which you get a hit. You let these 3 bands enter your musical life and enjoy how they change it, in a short time but forever ...
I watched the premiere of this. It's nice to see Fami fitting in so well. All the ladies killed it as usual. They looked so happy, especially Fami. It will be interesting how many songs they will pre-release before the official release date of Knockin At Heaven's Gate on Aug 23, 2023. Midori, the blonde lead guitarist, is a body builder and has competed in fitness competitions.
Great reaction. This should be the opener of the show. Combination of An instrumental introduction Awakening and this song is very often the opener of their concerts. If it is, this is the very first live performance in a Lovebites concert for the new bassist Fami. The singer Asami was a R&B, soul singer before joining this band. She had absolutely no idea about metal and she thought "Is this really music?" when she heard metal. The former bassist/the band founder/the band leader Miho has commented that they didn't want a typical stereo type metal singer when they chose their singer.
And now on their current album, this former R&B and Soul singer co-wrote the first Lovebites-song to enter Death (Metal)-territory, as far as the music is concerned, namely "Dissonance"! (Though I don't know, if the heavy guitar-riffing was her or Mao's idea.) I'm extra curious how this will turn out live, especially as regards the sound.
Thanks for a great reaction! You inflated *Haruna* (drums) though. She is 4'9" not 5'4". *Fami* (bass) is tallest @ 5'2½" and *Miyako* (blk hair guitar) is 5'2". *Midori* (blond guitar) is 4'11" and *Asami* (vocals) is 4'10". Midori is indeed a force to be reckoned with - she competes in Bikini Body Fitness competitions and medaled just last week. Next Lovebites could be the title track of their new CD *_Judgement Day_* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m3uGjp-P7DI.html or maybe *_Swan Song [+Chopin Intro]_* and watch Miyako shred some Chopin on a Grand Piano, and then shred the lead solo on her guitar - with a surprise ending ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WBhtqgiXEA4.html 🤘🐺🤘
I love your reaction video, since I see your comment is directly from your heart and the bare impression. I appreciate it much more than professional technical explanation on their technique.
You’re close on Megadeth. I say this with every time I hear this song: you can take all 5 of these ladies out, and replace them with the classic lineup of Anthrax, and this would sound exactly the same as if it came off of Anthrax’s 1986 album, Among the Living. That’s how good this is, and to sound like (those classic metal styles and influences) that resonates with classic metal heads while putting out new material is a very fine line to walk, and LoveBites nails it. Not only do they nail it, but they play harder than nearly all male bands out there… and do it in HEELS.
Haruna the drummer is only about 4'8" her drums are actually custom to fit her. The tallest member is Miyako who's about 5'3". Asami 4'9" Midori 4'10" and not sure on Fami yet. They said in early interviews they chose to wear white because they were afraid nobody would be able to see them if the wore black.

I dont know how deep in Lovebites catalogue you've gotten to, but there's well over 30 songs, and and not one is average. I'm a self taught amateur guitarist that's been into thrash from its beginning, and imo LB has the best catalogue ou5r of anyone I've listened to. Miyako (with rhe brown Dean guitar) is one of the most complete musician and composer I've been lucky enough to come across, and I consider Prince to be my #1. Along with writing most of LB's music, she's a world class classic pianist and plays slap bass as well as drums. She only learned guitar at 18, from a book, and was in a band writing shred material a year later! Ive read she transcribed a lot by ear as practice, and she's a big fan of Dimebag, Gary Moore and Paul Gilbert. That definitely comes out in how diverse she is in her material, where she can come with the controled chaotic energy of Dime, soulfullness of Moore, and technical brilliance of Gilbert. In "Hammer of Wrath", she plays this riff, just as Midori begans her solo when the band is in halftime, that's got this almost funky groove to it. Its so unexpected, yet perfect. Its kinda hard to hear that well in this mix, but its much clearer on the version on the "Live From Abyss" studio DVD. And really the whole band as a unit is the perfect storm. Even Fami as a new member adds her own unique spin on things with how she played those bass solos in a slightly different way than Miho, but it still works. It's going to be exciting to see what else LB has in store.

not a fan of Iron Maiden myself. had the change to see them live twice for free didnt go. But i do love lovebites. although they have a song that sounds like an Iron Maiden song named The Crusade. its a good song you should check it out if you havent yet.
