Lovebites are one of the most musically talented metal bands on the planet. Even if Power Metal isn't your thing, any lover of music should acknowledge the skill these women have.

They really are impressive. Classy, Heavy ,Virtuoso and Speed. They have been out since 2017 and have 4 albums of relentless Power Speed Metal. One of Japan's hidden Gems.

The guitarist who's dress you love, Miyako, you should see her play piano! She's a concert pianist.... check out their live performance of Swan Song (I think it's the same concert) with the "chopin intro"..... it's astounding all around... And you also should see their new bassist Fami (the original founding bassist/bandleader from this concert left the band a couple years ago, so they held an international open audition and chose Fami as their new bassist... who's a much more showy bassist who plays finger style and slap, and is only like 20 years old. The official Music Video for their newer song Judgement Day is AMAZING, features their new bassist, and shows what their other lead guitarist Midori spent her time doing during covid when they didn't have a bass player.... she became a competitive body builder.. and proudly plays guitar with a muscle pose in the video. Amazing amazing band!

Shred sisters, nice, the Midori/Miyako (aka M&M show) are polar opposites who blend perfectly and this Band defines Flawless Perfection especially LIVE. They are the top of the endless rabbit hole of all female Japanese bands, (Nemophila, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Fate Gear, Doll$Box, etc. ). The female talent out of Japan is endless. Lovebites is a lot more than just a power metal band. They have many thrash songs and some symphonic metal and some progressive metal songs too. They like to blend genres together which makes them quite unique. They also play traditional rock songs and a couple of ballads. Their new album features a lot of their best songs.

Btw.: i also wasn't a fan of powermetal and only listened to symphonic metal since the late 90s, until i first heared them, and now they are absolute on top of the list of my favorite bands next to Nightwish, Within Temptation and Epica. Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word; they deserve more recognition. On many occasions first time reactors usually are left speechless, stunned and blown away. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they’re redefining metal. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Some of their songs are uplifting, with a motivational message. Unfortunately Miho (bass) left the band in August, 2021, but a few months ago the band announced the new bass player, Fami; so now they’re ready to set the world on fire. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. My next suggestions are “Thunder vengeance”, “Break the wall”, “Set the world on fire”, “The awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”, “Scream for me”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “Raise some hell”, “Don’t bite the dust”, “Winds of Transylvania”; and for a different side of them: "Chopin Etude + Swan song”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Glory to the world”, “Frozen serenade”, "Liar", "Spellbound". They named the band after the Grammy winning Halestorm song Love Bites (So Do I). Lead singer , Asami, joined Lzzy and the boys at 2019 Download to perform that song. Miyako and Midori on guitar, Miho on bass here, and Haruna on drums. Miho left in 2021, Fami joined to replace her in Oct 2022. Some songs lean towards power metal, others lean towards thrash, and some ballads. They are all between 4'9" and 5' 2". Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down), or Judgement Day will introduce you to Fami.

It's great to see one of RU-vid's best guitarists react to one of the world's best heavy metal bands.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. I am pleased to present LOVEBITES. LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015. The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP". On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hummer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HUMMER. On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full. "Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated. On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry. LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018. Very good reaction. And it's always a pleasure to hear a true musician say that this particular track is pure Power Metal. You see, there's a certain guy in this community called SalSaucedo or something, who insists that Lovebites don't play power metal and also insults half of the fans who love live performances. And he says that this song is not power metal when the reality is that Holy War is the most pure power metal song of the band. In fact, many of us love Lovebites because it reminds us of the glorious days of Power and Thrash Metal in the 80s and 90s.

if you are a guitarist then you may have just found your favorite band. midori [blonde] and miyako [dark hair] are currently THE best guitar duo in the business and really need to be considered one of the best duos in metal and rock history. their live performances are now legendary and rank with the greatest of all time. the drummer haruna is easily in the top 10 drummers anywhere and she is tiny - 4 ft. 9 in. tall - and a powerhouse drum machine. vocalist asami will give you chills every time and the bassist here is miho - who left and the new bassist is fami. a slap specialist along with every style of bass playing you can think of. you're about to fall into a deep hole that will not want to climb out of anytime soon.

Você só mordeu a cereja do bolo, praticamente todas as musicas delas são do mesmo nível e há solos de guitarra lendários, como em Shadowmaker e Empty daydream. Pode apostar que este vídeo vai explodir com curtidas e comentarios dos "Wolfpacks", fãs defensores vorazes da banda, eles vão adorar sua reação. Outras bandas que estão se destacando no Japão e provavelmente você será encorajada a reagir: Nemophila, Bandmaid and Babymetal. Sou fã da Nemophila, uma proposta bastante diferente de Lovebites, a meu ver e que também começa a ganhar notoriedade nos EUA e Europa (aliás, isso está acontecendo com todas essas bandas que mencionei...). Tambem uma banda japonesa excelente é One Ok Rock, que é mais mais pop rock e muito popular no Japão - eles acabaram de fazer uma turnê conjunta com Muse e Evanescence nos EUA. Very impressive live show, I'd see them if they came to town. I'm seeing another J-metal band this month called Band-Maid.

Can't offer you symphonic metal from them--they don't play that style--but it's not all in the same vein. They also play thrash, a bit of hard rock, classic metal à la Maiden, with their main style shaping up to be thrash-infused power metal. With their latest album and the EP before that, they have become very fast and heavy for a power metal band. But they still play other styles occasionally. Since you're from Cobra Spell (great band, btw, I really like you ladies' music), maybe you would dig a recent glam metal song that they have: My Orion. I´ve been a fan of metal music since the 80´s, I recently discovered LOVEBITES and I have to say that It had been a long time since I had been this excited about a band in many years. Not just for their flawless and spectacular technique but for the intense emotion they are able to convey, I´ve become a huge fan of hers, and I can´t stop listening to their music.

About the dresses. A French metal mag asked Lovebites about that and Asami (singer) said, "We're girls we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and it's easier to see us on stage." And they ARE Small. Asami and Haruna (drummer) are both 4' 9". Midori (blond guitarist) is a little over 4' 10". Miho (bassist) is about the same size and Miyako (other guitarist) is the tallest at 5' 2".

They are very petite ladies ands wear white so they can be seen on the dark metal stages. The light reflects off their white costumes. "Set the World on Fire" is a good follow up to this.

You might want to try "The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath" from the same show. It's my personal favorite from them. It's more thrashy. Also, "Swan Song" with the Chopin intro. In that one you'll see how the piano you saw here is utilized.

Oii, Noelle!! Gostei do vídeo! Banda legal. Cá entre nós, brasileiros, os primeiros segundos ali, quando ela fala com o público parece que vai começar um show de axé em Salvador! Mas logo vem o power metal. O que pessoalmente gostei mais foi o riff do breakdown antes dos solos. Depois dos solos foi quando o vocal e a melodia remete bem mesmo o Angra! Sempre legal ver uma all female band! Uma banda feminina do passado, que conheci ao comprar um LP no brechó por um real e gostei é a Phantom Blue. O debut delas de 1989 é bem legal, as duas guitarristas solando. Saiu até pela Shrapnel nos EUA, se não me engano uma foi aluna do Paul Gilbert, O Friedman trabalhou na produção do disco. Acho que vale a pena conferir, caso não tenha escutado ainda.

Yes, super talented women in this band. They want to keep the bright, clean, feminine image while playing metal despite of black, dark gothic dress like other metal bands.
