Have you ever sat in a 1968 Pontiac GTO with 350 hp under the hood, and the driver is only going 25mph, and you can feel all that power in reserve, just waiting to explode, and you almost get the shakes? That's how watching this group do this song makes me feel. There have been lots of bands who could play hard rock and metal, but writing and performing a truly beautiful ballad is completely different thing, and few bands can pass the test. Lovebites know how to use all the tools to tell a story. IMHO, quite possibly the best power ballad ever.
Definately one of the most beautiful rock ballads ever written. How can you not fall in love with these women. No matter what your favorite genre of music.
cried many times, in both sorrow and joy over this song, they are so good at giving 1 or 2 power ballads on each cd to allow you to catch your breath before shredding your face again. This is ont of the best power ballads ever created. It has everything you need to see a glimpse of heaven.

Close my eyes and you would swear the late Gary Moore was playing that Dean instead of Miyako. She really honors his memory here with a great guitar performance. Midori really showed she is so much more than Flash and Shred with that Spanish guitar work during the intro with Asami's awesome vocals. This band is the complete package and once again the total package is so much better than the individual parts, even though those individual parts are amazing. Shout out to Miho/bass and Haruna/drums who are the founders and are truly the backbone of the band yet let the other members shine most of the time as here. Again, the ability to put aside ego for the sake of the song is one thing this band truly represents in all their performances.
If we were back in the ‘80s this song would definitely be number one in many charts. Such an amazing ballad I haven’t heard in so many years. I get glimpses from Micheal Schenker and Gary Moore plus the sultry of the Scorpions so freaking awesome. Btw this song was written by Asami way before she joined Lovebites but was never recorded or produced and it was finalized with the assistance of the great Miyako. Of course the next song you gotta check out is the phenomenal masterpiece “Edge of the World” I too want to thank you for the awesome love you are giving these amazing ladies, not everyone has done it like you buddy you totally rock and are a true headbanger in my book
You won’t dislike any Lovebites song. It’s an impossibility. I’ve never known a band capable of such a consistent output of well written, well composed, beautifully sung, thoughtfully arranged and impeccably performed songs time and time again. Keep that run of Lovebites reviews coming... it’d be rude to interrupt. 🙂 An obviously heartfelt reaction as always.
This why I love Lovebites. The all musicians on this band is world class talent. With they talent, they can making song and playing almost any genre music with so epic. If they choose metal, it's not mean they not can playing rock, jazz, pop, ballads, classic, or any genre music. Anyway on this song, for me not just vocalist singing, but guitar singing too. So beautiful.
I'll just repeat, what I already said to another reactor a few weeks ago ... The thing with LOVEBITES is that they just took classic Metal to a whole new level of perfection. "Epilogue" is easily playing in the league of "Still loving you" (Scorpions), "Before the Dawn" (Judas Priest), "Strange World" (Iron Maiden), "Temple of the King" (Rainbow), "If I close my eyes forever" (Lita Ford & Ozzy Osbourne), "Nothing else matters" (Metallica) or "Parisienne walkways" (Gary Moore). LOVEBITES is the REAL DEAL imho ...
I have listened to metal since very early 1980s (yes, i'm ancient) but have struggled to find anything i really liked post 2000. Then I found Lovebites and now I hardly listen to my old favorites anymore :-) Thanks to Covid I discovered RU-vid reactors and thanks to all of you in this crazy community I've discovered Nightwish (with Floor, never really enjoyed Tarja), Band-Maid and most of all Lovebites. I have listened to them daily for the past 8 months and just don't seem to grow tired of them. Especially live, with their energy, obvious joy of performing and undeniable talent. Every song has something to it that just hooks you. Miyako's influences, especially Gary Moore, is very obvious in this song and I have always loved his guitar playing. Look for Miyako's rendition of his Parisienne Walkways here on RU-vid for a weeping guitar. I think too that her behavior on stage, seemingly unfazed or aloof, has to do with her background as a concert pianist. You seldom see classical musicians jumping around, smiling and expressing joy. For some extra fun, watch 'We the United', the closer of '5 of a kind' for some incredible guitar harmonies.

The surprise and admiration of Americans and Europeans watching the LOVEBITES performance video is the same reaction as when the Japanese first saw or heard a heavy metal band over 30 years ago. The amount of feeling in the eyes and playing of the entire band during this performance make me tear up every damn time I see it. Definitely a favorite of mine. So good to see the joy on your face during this whole thing!
Is there another metal band out there today that is as well rounded as Lovebites? Every style of metal they play is pure perfection. I have listened to all their albums and have yet to hear a song that I do not like. If you want to hear them build up a song, listen to Edge of the World. Their transition from ballad to heavy is amazing. Also, Asami's background is R&B/Soul singer. That song is right in her wheelhouse.
In my current lovebitten condition I never could open a reaction channnel (not that I have any intention), because I already have bought all the Lovebites CDs and Blu-Rays (which are worth every cent!!!) and simply couldn't manage to bother enough to react to anything else than Lovebites ... ;-)

ive been listening to this song for so many times, it always make me feeling something that im in another world, esp during this pandemic. Such a masterpiece song. Salute to Lovebites!.. ..pls stick together for as long as you all can.
I can hear so much of Gary Moore in many of these girls solos. GM is one of my favourite artists all time (may him RIP) and i enjoy so much that Lovebites have picked up much of his guitar sound.

Incredible song. Asami wrote it before she was in LB. Miyako helped her with it, and wow, their beautiful solos, harmonized guitars. And Miyako writing in Midori bluesy, soulful outdo solo, just wow.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing some time with your son with us. My youngest daughter is now a LOVEBITES fan and learning to sing some of their songs. (She is 33) She loves their lyrics, as i do. They are universal, honest, empowering and uplifting, and METAL! Your son reacted like quite a few full grown men regarding "girlfriend". I have just expanded my family from one son & 4 daughters to one son and 9 daughters! Thanks for this series of LOVEBITES reactions. Very enjoyable. Every time, for me man. I can hold it back until Midori hits us with that screeching guitar in the outro. The whole performance is pure passion, by all the women. God I hope they manage to tour Australia in the near future.

It is not heavy metal IT IS symphonic metal you will find mix metal ballads etc. Symphonic metal bands like Nightwish or Epica make you travel through the universe. but don't confuse heavy metal with symphonic metal
