LOVEBITES Judgement Day and Swan Song (Reactions) 

If you remember how I said “guess the classic metal influence” with this band, it clearly shows here. Swan Song is a ballad for the fallen warrior, based on classical music (Chopin, Dvorak, Rachmaninov), which is why they are stoic and serious there… While Judgement Day totally screams Yngwie Malmsteen, to the point where 3 runs that Midori does comes straight out of Black Star, off of his first album. It’s all clearly there and plain to see that Miho’s foundation and roots for the band are still clearly visible.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Asami is trained in ballet which can explain her gracefullness 🤘😊🤘

Judgement Day has the new bassist

The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) is playing in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12" known as the "Revolutionary Etude." When FAMI was chosen as a new member, some fans raised concerns about her addition. So they decided on the album title "Judgement Day" in order to let the fans judge the new LOVEBITES on the album they are working on.

"Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics.. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.

Since the venue of Fami the bass is more present IMHO ... For me it sound even better ...

Love the way Miyako gives a virtuoso performance on the piano then casually lifts her pick and strolls over and taps the intro on her guitar ( which she reprises later in the song )

Very good point someone did about the bass mix in this. I love what often the Japanese bands like Lovebites and BandMaid does in the mixing of the bass in general. This is for me exactly what i want more of in both rock and metal bands. Cause often I think either what type of metal or rock genre the bass is to low or to "not defined' in the mix... Thinking of a lot of very good bands who would benefit of following their example... Not only for the fundament of the music. But to actually hear the base tones played better...

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor)

Judgement Day was their first drop after coming back with Fami as the new bassist. They clearly wanted to make a statement.

This is another all time great song that these powerhouse well practiced ladies so naturally play and yes it's Judgement Day. Like it's your diary in the end so was the truth your friend? Peace is where it walks this life is a dress rehearsal to eternity. These ladies are exceptional and gifted from the source of love. It's almost like a magic miracle. They have reached so many and i am glad that they are reaching out with a message as well as a talent that is unmatched. The battle of invisible empires is at hand God wants you to win and the devil wants you to sin. Who will you give place to? The first two letters of God is go the first three letters of Satan is sat. First of all, it was a totally awesome choice and order of the two songs for this reaction. Just a few key points for me: Miyako is my favorite musician. A virtuoso at two instruments and as a composer/arranger; The solo section in Judgement Day is the best I have ever heard; Fami's bass lines in JD, and especially the solo section, are completely siiiick 🔥🔥; Asami's voice is a spectacular contrast to the music playing behind her, and it's a forward and powerful voice; Haruna is in my top 3 all-time favorite drummers. She is a completely insane machine; Miyako and Midori are my favorite dual lead guitarists ever, and I would argue they are the best ever. Nice reaction.

No matter how many times I hear it, the last note Asami hits always gives me goosebumps.

Towards the end of 'Swan Song' she is portraying the dying swan from 'Swan Lake'. Look carefully for her in the background.

I keep saying every time I watch and listen to Judgement Day We aren't worthy of such greatness.

Great reaction to these very talented musicians from Japan. The world needs to know about all of the Japanese lady metal/rock bands. They are all reviving music genres that have been destroyed in the west by marauding record companies and our western woke communities and councils closing down live venues, stifling and killing a once powerful industry.

I was having a bit of a titter at the babymetal fans talking about VIP tickets! Back in the day there was no such thing and ticket prices were the same for all. Getting to the front was a bonus if you squeezed your way to it or got in early! Those prices quoted are a rip off.
