It's a crying shame that there isn't the Chopin intro on piano "Revolutionary etude" that explain all the storytelling and the down level of background of another Chopin etude: "Ocean" and the piano final harmonisation with the guitar of Midori.
Miyako (guitar/keyboards) composed the piece based on the "revolutionary etude", Polish composer Chopin's "Etude OP10 No. 12" and Dvorak's "New World Concerto". Asami (vocal), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of the "Revolutionary Etudes" (the failure of Poland's "November Revolution" in 1831 due to the direct intervention of the Russian Imperial Army and the fall of the Polish dynasty), Norse mythology, and the ballet suite "Swan Lake". SWAN SONG" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to regain their homeland and freedom.

Agree, the intro sets up the entire song and gives you the true picture of what Miyako's genius brain can come up with. Of course, having insanely talented bandmates who can perform anything you can think of doesn't hurt either LOL
Oh, the difficulty of those incredibly tight sixteenth rhythm guitar parts is heavily underestimated. They don't come cheaper than a decent tapping or even a sweep in terms of practicing. They're just not as flashy.
