LOVEBITES WINDS OF TRANSYLVANIA REACTION | JUST JEN IS WOW'D 

I had to jump right in when I saw this! This is my number 1 band, so I'll fill you in on some details. Your favourite guitarist is Midori, and the other guitarist is Miyako, who is also a classically-trained concert-level pianist, and can be seen playing some next-level piano on stage occasionally. The singer is Asami, and she had classical ballet training when she was younger, which is undoubtedly where a lot of her movements come from. She sang R&B and soul before joining Lovebites, this was her first metal gig of any kind. Then we have the two founders of the band: Miho on bass, and Haruna on the drums. It would be hard to find a better rhythm section anywhere at the moment! Musically their inspirations are bands like Judas Priest (good spot!), Iron Maiden, Helloween, Slayer, Gary Moore, Megadeth and others. They play a variety of metal, from thrash and power metal to more classic 80s sounding metal. I saw this video about 12 minutes after it came out. Loved it and of course with Miyako in the group I had to add it to my play list right away. I could sit and watch her play piano or guitar all day long everyday. She is so beautiful and talented, I get entranced by her. Yes they are all beautiful and talented but something about her melts me. Midori (Christi Teagan look alike) is the other guitar player, Asami is the lead singer, Miho is the bass player and Honura is the drummer.

There are so many layers to Lovebites. They play different styles of metal, from traditional metal to power metal to thrash. No matter what style they play, they destroy it. You can pick any of their songs to react to and it will be a winner. The one song I always like to suggest is Edge of the World (live version). It shows off the different layers of their sound and really shows off Asami's vocals. I think it's a masterpiece. They are all amazing musicians who write their own songs and lyrics. I am very impressed by the drummer, Haruna. She is only 4'9" but is a giant behind the kit. I believe they are the best metal band right now.

This is the theme song for the anime "Vladlove", which is a slapstick comedy about a vampire from the Vlad family who accidentally ends up in Japan. She meets a girl who has a strange addiction to giving blood donations. Though you can see from some of the clips in this video there is a more serious side.

As I'm sure other commenters will have already said, the singer Asami owes her graceful and elegant movements to her background as a classically trained ballet dancer. All of these ladies are multi-talented polymaths. It seems almost unfair that so much talent can be concentrated in one band.

Great reaction, Jen. Asami studied ballet for much of her life so she is very graceful with body movements not just her arms. You will see her always moving if you watch more of their videos.

Between Lovebites and Bandmaid ..Japan is killing it. They can boast for having one of the best power/heavy metal bands and THE best hard rock band. The talent of those two bands is mind blowing. I’d suggest a song to react to but honestly they are all good...I already saw some good suggestions in the comments so you can’t go wrong 🤟🏻. Now I will throw this out there for a band to check out (if you already hadn’t ) ... that’s Burning Witches. They are an all female heavy metal band from Sweden. They are fairly a new band so they are not very well known...(for now). Their style is like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden so it has an old school vibe. They are releasing a new album in a few months. They released an album in 2020 and it was one of my favorites. For a song to check out I would suggest their latest single Circle of Five. Hexenhammer is also a good one. Anyway that’s my 2 cents for the night. Lol

Midori is the guitarist you like and there is no doubt that she is a force of nature; a phenomenal guitar player, extrovert and flamboyant. Miyako is my girl however; the dangerously quiet, cerebral and introspective genius on the other guitar. Still waters run deep and Miyako is the enigmatic mystery whose songwriting and creativity elevates the band from mere brilliance to the threshold of greatness.

Their song Life always has me grab tissues, as it means birth, and drummer Tamu had just come back for this live stream, from having her baby. So her holding back emotion, is beautiful.

Woo great song, LOVEBITES can play. I been listening to Japanese rock and metal bands for a while now. My top three BANDMAID, LOVEBITES and BABYMETAL. If you like Transylvania look up LILIAC there a band made up of two sisters and three brothers ages 12 to 21, they can play. They had their first album come out, but done a lot of covers and killed it. They covered OZZIE, DIO, AND IRON MAIDEN to name a few. The lead vocalist is strong as you can feel her grawl and power, about the Vamp Metal, their Mom and Dad are from Transylvania. Their Dad lived a mile away from Dracula's castle.

Did my best Haruna impression smashing that like button. Now I need a new screen for my phone.

Hi Jen, I just binge watched all your Band-Maid & Babymetal reactions, and was thinking the whole time, "wait 'til she hears Lovebites"... then I see this. I guess they're not new to you because you just said you've seen some of their videos in livestreams, so that sucks because I wanted to see your first reaction to Lovebites melting your face off, but it's still cool. I also kept thinking, "she's got to be Canadian", 'cos you have a real Canadian thing about you (not an insult, I'm Canadian, and I'm f*@#^ng awesome). But then I heard you say you're from Ohio, so I got that wrong, but you'd make a great Canadian. Well, that's about all I've got right now. Subscribed.

You could have asked a bunch of comic-book artists to design a band of alien superheroes, disguised as beautiful women who use music to battle darkness, and they could not have come up with this. It's really insane. More backgound (I know others have given you pieces of it already): They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music. They have only been around for about 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and now they’re taking it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. One key to their sound is that the two shredders are so different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets really rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Hair down in jeans t shirt, banging, shredding in the Kemper booth area. She is so down to earth. Miyako plays the piano, for their piano backing tracks. Try songs Epilogue, Swan song, both emotional songs. Band Maid , Lovebites, and Nemophila all so incredible.

But the other one is where the talent is. She also plays classical music on the piano in some songs. I heard but might be wrong but she writes all or most of the songs.

I found this channel of yours by chance and I looked at some of your ractions which concerned different Japanese bands and also the Korean group DREAMCATCHER, of which I am a very assiduous fan, and seen all this so I signed up, if I can, I would like recommend a video of a Japanese group THE GAZETTE, this jrock band is a column of VISUAL KEY the song is "DOGMA" not brand new, it is from 2015, but in my opinion it is fantastic, even if a little disturbing, thank you for the attention and keep it up ....!

Yeah nice reaction you just met the best all female power metal band in the world at the moment . Formed 2016 in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer ( best female power metal drummer in the world at the moment) the other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter ( she was R&b and jazz singer before to join the band) Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair ( one of the fastest female guitarists in the world at the moment) and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer ( she is the main composer of the band). Lovebites are the winners of 2018 in category for best new metal band. Someone mentioned it's so criminal to have those two guitarists in one band. Their last album Electric pentagram was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year.
