alright... this might be my favorite music video of all time

According to Los campesinos! This song was about how one of the band members Gareth met a person at an event and they started talking about the t-shirt he had on. It was only at the end of the week he found out she had a boyfriend, so he was heartbroken. He finds out her boyfriend also likes the same band because in the photo they are together wearing the same t-shirt. I know this music video doesn’t actually show any of this but it does have the components. The start when he met her, the middle where he reflects and is heartbroken, and the end when he gets mad because he got feelings for someone who just liked the same band, and nothing else

2:32 I love how the song finally picks up here. After teasing us at the start before fading into a morose melody, its finally able to break free. The singing finally lets out his emotions, realizes that they weren't meant to be, and through it all can finally return to happiness, the instrumental reflecting that acceptance!

it’s like the instrumentals are telling us a story at the start, the whole song takes us through an emotional rollercoaster. but im not complaining this song is SO GOOD!

I love how the instrumentals go from blaring to slow and sad, the lyrics punctuated clearly before it becomes blaring and angry at the end. The animation and vibe is also amazing. Well done on this.

The art style is amazing, the song is amazing, this whole thing is more than amazing!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the genuine quality that has clearly gone into this? The vocals, the instrumentals, the animation and the fact that los campesinos is gaining the popularity they deserve.... 10/10

everything about this song has made me fall in love with it. from my understand, this is about realising your lover puts in more effort when speaking to other people. like they care more about other people. like you’ve just faded from being their favourite person while they’re still yours and they’re showing it but being subtle. you’ve caught on but are far too afraid to leave because you’ve grown attached. you try and forget that they’re loosing interest because it makes you anxious every time you think about them wanting to leave. you just wish things could stay the same but you know that’s not what they wish. it’s not their fault. is it..your own? Anyways, it’s just a little relatable to my past relationship and it’s been really calming listening to this song because i understand it. I hate this. I hate that this guy made some of my favourite songs, that I still like his music, that I’ll find myself singing his songs even though I despise him. I hate that I’ll never unlearn the lyrics or unsee the music videos or unlove any of it. I hate it and I hate him. This situation sucks.

I Cant say I have been into Lovejoy since the beginning. I Cant say i have been into Lovejoy since before pebble brain came out But I can say I am invested into the music and it has changed my life and who I am as a person. Even though I haven’t been here since the beginning I feel as though I have. This music has changed me so much and I am proud to say I have been here since before the big blow up after yccmwyl I am proud to be a Lovejoy fan despite how long I have been here for. I may not be an og but I am a huge fan nonetheless.

The ending is so sweet but sad 😭this is beautifully made and I love how Ash Is drawn LMFAO. I heavily relate to this song and this whole video made it seem like I'm not alone. The breakdown at the end is so cool. And the way it depicts how a guy loved this girl and she wasn't interested enough to keep their relationship (or friendship) going and she felt the need to cheat (lie etc.) This video really ties that all together. The line "for each correctly used apostrophe I could feel my heart sink inside my chest in front of me" has to be my favorite line from this song. It can be interpreted in so many ways but I think the main two I think of Is the girl writing a letter to the guy she liked, and It was so well-written that it showed her "love interest" that she really put effort into that letter and that showed how much she cared for the other guy and not him. The other is that she is sending a message to her love interest (the one she is cheating on) and it's so well typed as well and it makes him feel almost stupid? like shes trying to show him how smart she is. ANYWAYS ive typed too much LMAO but overall I love this song. I think it fits Wilbur's voice SO incredibly well. And I'm glad they covered this song and I like how each version can have different meanings bc of the tone, the way the lyrics are portrayed, etc. Of course all I said is what I interpreted this song to be, You can interpret this however you want. :]

When you realize the sadness and sorrow in this song that was still one year ago, still hits hard.

Man this song just makes me sad about a friend I once had the start is the good times I had with him. The middle is when I was sad about him just thinking I'm annoying, the end is now when I have gone through that friendship and cherish it but he doesn't think of me in the same way I did for him.

The artistic expression in both the music and the animation easily makes this both my favourite animation short story and song , it is beautiful, and i never thought id fall in love with a song, but look where we are, this artistic work has left me in trans for the past few days , you can feel the love the band has for the music they make and cover , in not just all their songs so far , but this song in particular has set the bar for whats to come for future songs and covers! I hope the ones that got scrapped, are released, better and more amazing than they already were, Keep it up lovejoy!!! I love how in the beginning the instrumental part is blaring and then it changes to more slow and ends up being so calming... Overall the song is amazing and well done!
