Thank you for continuing to review updated kits... It's really helpful. My daughter will be getting the 9-10 months this month but I am excited to see what the 11-12 months currently looks like. Hopefully they won't make any changes between now and then

I would assume that they’re not going to update the kit anytime soon since they just updated it. I’ve noticed usually about a year or so before they change kits.

We're about to receive this box in 2 weeks. Thanks for the review! I'm a little bummed that they changed the previous box right after we received it. We ordered the new items from the subscriber shop but I much prefer them over the original. Oh well, at least it's great that Loveery keeps updating.

The new baby doll looks like any regular doll from a toy store. I thought they were gonna keep the same doll just change the material for the skin I can't believe they would make the doll such a regular baby doll. I like the ball drop and sliding box being able to stack when I store them away, I liked the size consistency. Not sure id care for the slimer version esp since my son like to drop more toys than just balls. The pincers toy was def my son's favorite too. Last night he was playing with my tea bag by the string! I couldn't help but thank that toy for tuning this fine motor skill

I think they tried to make the toy even more neutral but I do like the Avery doll better. Best part is that they think they’re just playing when in reality they’re practicing skills 😀

As far as I’ve heard they update the play kits based off the data/feedback they get. Usually meant to make the kits better.

It's funny that you reviewed this as I was just looking at the boxes yesterday and noticed they were different. My next box is 7-8 and I dont think that has changed but the 9-10 month did.

Looks like I released the video just in time! They updated it very recently so there’s a chance if you checked a week or two ago the changes wouldn’t have shown.

I have the old 9-10 box and I feel like the changes are for the better, the items they removed are things I didn't want anyways. The scarf and key ring look awesome and you can use those earlier for grasping. I am curious to see a kids review on the Spin Top.

My daughter has this box coming next and it seems like I will like the changes as well I was looking forward to the stones but know I can but those pretty easily where as the others are very hard to duplicate as you said.

It’s nice when the changes are for better! For the most part I do think that Lovevery tries their best make the boxes better.

I received the old version of this box a month ago and my subscription needs to be renewed. I do have the option to get this box again. Trying to decide if I should do that or not. Thank you for the review.

You can try to email them and ask for the pricing of just the items you didn’t receive. Might be cheaper than buying the box again.

I’m pretty sure they will give you a 20% discount on the new items if you got the kit in the pst 60 days so u can get some of the new items

Thanks for this review! For baby #2 I’m seriously considering getting this box again even though I already have it. I didn’t start lovevery until the explorer, and I plan to get all the previous infant boxes with my second child. I originally thought I would cancel at the explorer but because of the updates I think I would want to keep the subscription active until the babbler play kit. It’s exciting to have new toys to look forward to. Do you think you would order these toys if you already had the previous box?

If the boxes hadn’t changed so much I might not order again but some boxes change so much it’s almost a different box. I think it’s worth the consideration if I’ve half the box changed. My son really loves the new wooden peg drop and he’s 21 months old!

Your video sold me on getting the crinkle bag. I have the option to buy that but my kid isn't that interested in the other crinkle bag from the earlier box (the red squiggly line with a pocket one). One question, is the clothes on the new avery doll removable? I like how they sent you all three dolls because the medium skin tone one is darker than I expected. I still like both the medium skin tone and dark skin tone ones but based on the description, I thought that one would be closer to an Asian complexion but it is not.

The new doll clothes are removable. It has a velcro on the bottom and back to remove it. Although the size is a bit odd so might have to make custom clothing. Yeah seeing them side by side was much easier to compare.

By the time Lovery is available in Europe my son will be old enough to start subscribing from The Thinker. As a subscriber do you know if I would then be allowed to purchase one or two items individually from previous boxes that I think would be still developmentally suitable for him? The updated Thinker looks good! Mary

They don’t have that option to only purchase one or two items from previous boxes. But they do have pretty decent customer service. When you’re able start subscribing, you can try contacting to see if they’ll let you.

An email account! That’s smart! I think I may do that! Yes I noticed they updated some of their infant boxes , but honestly the original boxes look better to me . And yes, care instructions should be in the Play Guide on the card! If they make changes every year, are they going to make changes to the 2 year old box?!

Usually boxes stay the same for at least a year.

That’s the one thing about the changes. They don’t make any announcements. Most people find out when they check the website or receive the box. It’s not set but from past trends it’s about once a year.

I’ll see if I can get a hand on the newer kits to review. I do believe most kits will eventually be updated. From the trends it seems that they update about once a year. No specific order that i know though.

This did bum me out. They have changed multiple boxes recently. Some boxes had small changes for the better, but the Explorer and the Thinker had big makeovers that reducedthe number of toys. My biggest gripe with lovevery is the removal of the books. My son and I have only received the first two boxes and those were amazing. The addition of the Spiral to the Looker was awesome and honestly the best part of the box. Plus my son loves the crinkle bag in the Charmer, which is a newer item. But as we prepaid for the year I'm disappointed to see certain things change under my nose. I even emailed customer service to see if we would be offered the subscriber shop down the road so we can pick up some of the old books and toys. I was concerned we wouldn't as some of these boxes are more than six months away for my son. Anyway no response over a week later. So I am resigned to the fact that if I we want an old item we will need to buy it secondhand or pick up an alternative. I will say I have seen more alternatives pop up on Amazon, which is nice.

One of thing that Lovevery could definitely do better is updating prepaid customers better on upcoming changes. Removal of books is also concerning as those are some of my son's favorite items in each box. However, there are speculations that they're going to do a book subscription. That's just what I read on some Facebook groups so no idea if that's true. As for removing more items than adding does suck and not look good from a customer's point of view, but at least for the Thinker it was a similar ratio of 3 removed 3 added. I would considered the first wallet, wood coins, and big spender a single item since they're bundled together. I haven't had a chance to go in depth on the 0-10 boxes, but I know the Pioneer has been one of the worse offenders of removing too many items and adding back in only 2! The other year 1 boxes changes so far aren't quite as bad, but once again like you I wish they kept the books in!

I have heard the book subscription rumor too, and that would be cool. I just wish they would announce it soon otherwise the price of the used discontinued books will go up.

We ordered the 1 year boxes in November, before my son was 6 months because I had the same worry. It also was a great option for Christmas gifts from the grandparents. I am happy I did because I was able to pick up all the old items. Since then Stella and the Big and Little book are no longer in the shop and customer service said that they will not be offering these going forward.

Many of the items Lovevery includes in their boxes are Montessori materials that have been around for a long time, or their own version of a Montessori material. So it is usually possible to find the items online. But definitely unfortunate that you were expecting to get one set of items when you prepaid, and now you have to go through all this extra work.

Hmm that’s odd it should be live already. I was told it went in effect February 18. I see the updated one as the 11-12 when I look on their website. Maybe try clearing browser cache?
