A truly remarkable performance from Low playing the Water Is Life Festival. I had no clue that this would be the last time we'd see Mimi Parker performing on stage. Keep her in your heart.
wow ....been such a fan of these cats for so long..... where do you go and how to replace such a beautiful soul... devastating and wishing those close all the best 💔💔💔
@@CydTygerConnor She did know. I don't remember when she was diagnosed, but she had known for some time (maybe like a year?) before this performance. Condolences to you for your loss. Cancer sucks.
Thanks Low for destroying perfection. For me the "Hey What" album is one of the best albums ever. Tears flowing at the end on of "The price you pay" for the beauty and for Mimi. Love.
One if my biggest regrets in life is i didnt see them live. I was in town for their last concert in Provo, snd now ill never get the chsnce. Rest in peace Mimi you made the world a better place
All the lovely heartfelt comments, you can just add me to the list. That couple taught me a lot about art. Mimi one of the more original percussionists with her glacial soothing voice. Bittersweet.
I just learned Mimi is dead, reading your comments, guys I wasn't even aware she'd been sick I'm in tears, something hugely important to me has come to an end and I didn't realise just how important it was until it happened RIP Mimi, you are a beautiful soul 💔
💖💖💖 Always & forever, in our hearts. Mimi, you taught us the truth of music, the value of living gently on this earth...and of fighting until the very end. We shall never forget you. May your soul fly free 💖
Great piece of footage. So sorry we never got to see Mimi one last time in Birmingham, UK but I have many great memories (and a few photos) of seeing Low live over the years. R.I.P x
i am so grateful to have the chance to hear their incredibile music and to have had the chance to hear them live. Thank you Mimi, thank you Alan, you have enriched my life.
They did a beautiful cover version of 'Fearless' by Pink Floyd way back in the day. I just think their performance here of 'Days Like These' in this video sums up the meaning of the lyrics & why they chose that song to cover. Thanks ever so much for sharing this - it's a fitting tribute to an enormous artistic talent.
Walt, for all you have done to promote local , original music over the years. I can think of no one else that should have captured this very special moment . We lost a valuable member of the Iron Range music scene on Nov 2nd , Warren Pulford . So I posted a video of him playing with Rich Mattson and the Northstars . The song was about Warren , written by Rich! Though it's not the quality of this one you did. We miss him terribly.
Truly heartbreaking to consider she passed almost exactly two months to the day.. her last performance.. I think they both knew it. Damnit this is so hard to watch.
MIMI PARKER, I LOVE YOU In my imaginary fantasy life, I played in a garage band in high school. It was a disaster. Our music was too slow and sad, too filled with regret and longing. Then I went solo. It was a bigger disaster. Once I played guitar in a laundromat in Los Angeles and got thrown out. People threw stuff at me. They thought I was stoned or something. Someone yelled "junkie". Another asked if I could sell him a dime bag of heroin. I had to leave my clothes behind in the dryer. But one girl said something nice. She said my music sounded like a "deep slacker dreaming " and that phrase always stuck with me. She was such a lovely regular girl. In my imaginary fantasy world, I ended up marrying that girl. And we started a band. Our band played in a million small clubs. We developed a hard shell. But our music got better. We got an agent. Then we caught a lucky break. Our agent got us in one of those bar music scenes on Twin Peaks, the trippy mystery serial drama television series created by Mark Frost and David Lynch. It was after Twin Peaks that our agent said it was out time. In my imaginary fantasy world, we started playing bigger clubs. We made a few albums. We started to get a cult following. No one else understood us. But it didn't matter. We had what Rolling Stone Magazine called a signature sound and we were true to ourselves. ___ Mimi died last week. In my imaginary fantasy world, she died before we could release our next album. We called it, "Restings after the Viral Rush". We wanted to release the album right after the Covid-19 pandemic. But Mimi got sick with ovarian cancer. One more thing. In my imaginary fantasy world, I have a single ambition. After I die, I want to play with Mimi in heaven. I want to sing beautiful harmonies with Mimi Parker and the holy angels. Until then, I try to make each day mean something. ___ John Sakowicz
