I've been a Longchamp fan for years, and I too like using Le Pliage in their various sizes for travelling. I've even used Le Pliage as a diaper bag when my children were babies. Longchamp used to have special edition patterns of these foldable bags, which I think were more attractive than the louder, graphic ones of recent years. The patterened small and medium ones with the attachable straps and patent leather handles were ideal for their versatility; crossbody at the airport, handheld for dinner at restaurants. If I really liked the pattern, then I would also buy the matching pouches, which worked equally well to protect and hold passports together in your bag for quick access, as well as a quick clutch if needed for anything a little dressy.. Unfortunately, they don't make those pouches anymore. I use the solid-coloured zippered pouch for make-up as you do, and usually the insides are wipeable. But if you need a little more elbow grease, did you know that you could actually put the makeup pouch in the washing machine? I use the hand wash or delicate cycle and they pouches come out as new. Because they fold so well and are lightweight, I always pack an extra large or large Le Pliage in my suitcase just in case I need the extra baggage, It's come in handy many times to consolidate all those extra little items collected while travelling that one prefers to carry on board, as well as to carry the children's rain jackets, pullovers, books (this was pre iPads or kindles) toys, etc. I'm glad to know there is someone else who appreciates the Longchamp Le Pliage for travelling. By the way, Longchamp used to make the best leather key pouches to hold those chunky car keys. Unfortunately they have discontinued this model. I have yet to find something simialr in regards to quality and cost.
