I stumbled across your video just trying to better understand the different blends. I just starting smoking a pipe last week at 55 yrs old. Glad to know about the low nicotine tobaccos, beggar my lifestyle is not going to allow me to smoke everyday, but there may be a 3-4 day stretch where I could smoke a bowl every day. I’d like to avoid a nicotine addiction, so knowingthat the Latakia, oriental, and red Virginia’s are lowest in inviting content is very helpful information! I wish you the best health wise!

I ordered some of what you suggested Thank you i am glad you found something that works for you. I was never a cigarette smoker a cigar and a pipe which i really enjoy, i have about 5-7 bowls a week but if i can reduce the nicotine some it can not hurt. Its a balance i alway felt if you enjoy something then it has a value that it worth a little risk. With this info in reduces the risk further which is good. Be well btw those new pipes are beautiful. I heard you say Boswell’s wouldn’t sell individual tobaccos or custom blends to you. The only place I know of that does that is LJ Peretti. This is an old video so someone probably already recommended them to you but just in case. Thanks for your videos, they’ve been helpful

I love Latakia and Red Kentucky Tobaccos. Whiler I do have some aromatics, it seem all the ones that I like are from Boswell Pipes & Tobaccos. Virginia Tobaccos seem to burn to hot for me and I'm a sipper. I can't seem to smoke it slow enough. Since I don't inhale my smoke, nicotine is not a problem for me.

Great vid, I've been trying to search out this information. Pretty hard to find nicotine values for pipe tobacco. I don't see the point of taking in nicotine, it is a toxin, and is bad for everyone, not just people with health issues. I smoke pipe tobacco for the taste, smell, and to pass the time out at camp or even chilling in the back yard, or to occupy my hands while reading. Nicotine has nothing to do with any of that. Really appreciate this info, would be great if you kept us updated with your low nic findings. I'd love to find a blend that is as tasty as nightcap, or even tastier - I could do without the spiciness, would love more latikia, but without all the nicotine. And then I'd like that blend to be in bulk so I can put away 20lbs so some federal busybody can't tell me what I can and can't do.

Dear Sir, there are 6-mm pipes as well like Savinelli. Why you are focused on only 9-mm ones? Is it a difference in terms of reduce nicotine between these two systems? Enjoy pipe smoking!
poker pot pipe Savinelli balsa wood filters allow the smoke to get past the filter. They are mainly used to absorb moisture. 9mm however allow no smoke to get past without being filtered plus they are charcoal filters which do a great job of trapping the bad stuff. Thanks, and be well...
I have been testing my blood pressure and it rises after smoking a pipe. I wonder if it is the nicotine that is source. I may have to quit my pipes, which is very disappointing.
Yes, we are, and it is a source of enjoyment I have significantly curtailed, but not completely abandoned. It is odd in my case because the pipe will elevate my blood pressure by 10 or 15 points systolic and 5 or 10 diastolic, but a cigar seems to raise it only a few points. I used to smoke one bowl per day, and now I am down to one or two bowls per week at most. I may smoke one or two cigars per week also. I continue to monitor my B/P carefully. Best wishes, Syed.

I started and ended my day with a pipe! Yes, My BP SHOT UP TO 150+ SYS and the LOW DYS to a reading of around 100+ with a very high pulse rate. I guess my age and health is not keeping up with the habit. I have now relinquished.
I know how you feel, but your reply indicates you smoked frequently each day, which I did not. My B/P was similar to what you describe, so I cut back drastically. Have you considered maybe a bowl or two per week? None of my business, but have you consulted your physician? Maybe you need medication. I have been on B/P medication for many years. Yes, I often feel lonely without my pipe.
Nicotine will absolutely raise your blood pressure. That is why I only smoke blends with very low nicotine levels. Don't give up your pipe, just choose the right low nicotine blends to smoke.
Thank you. I like latakia, which is lower in nic so I am moving in that direction. Unfortunately, I like virginia flake, which tends raise my B/P , so I may have to reduce or eliminate it. Thanks for helping me with my research.
