A bit on the rowdy side. Blue, smokey and then almost sunk out at Wilber. Really had to be patient and work the broken stuff. Finally turned into something solid. Happy to make it back!

Some people believe the strength of an Atos is its glide. Truth is the sink rate is an even greater asset, enabling one to gain altitude when a lesser wing could not.

Maybe should be landing in the green paddocks. Dust devils can trigger from the dry ones as any time. Generally that doesnt end well if one does.

We try not to land in planted fields. And generally we are landing at the end of the day when the thermals are over. (or we would keep flying 😉) If it was mid day, yes I would be very concerned for a dust devils. Thanks for the comment and watching.

Do you find it easier to low save it on a flex wing? Seems it would be harder on a rigid as the circles are wider?

It really all depends on the conditions and my potential LZ. I like to leave a larger margin of room for set up with the atos. The atos has less sink rate that can make up for the larger radius.

Also Imagine flying your Flex at full VG but being able to turn it, similar to how the Atos feels performance-wise... but add five or six points of Glide ☺️

@@MikeBomstad I do fly my Combat at full VG all the time :) LE tension is set to a bit less than setting best for performance, but I had one XC flight in Golden that was flown completely (sans take off and landing) on full VG. I still need to fly a rigid...one day.

:-) I landed my old Litespeed near the rim at Chelan full VG. Rained on out of the sky. 1st time with a wet glider. Thought the rain was causing the stiffness. Until I started walking and saw the rope... dohhh! One of my first big XC flex flights. I learned 😉 I really need to get to golden! That's on my list. The rigid is truly a pleasure to fly. Minimal effort 😁
