A very small circuit that can be used to track objects up to a distance of about 400m. No GPS or other Hi-tech , just a little RF transmitter that sends out intermittent beeps. Locating it requires a directional antenna and adjustable attenuators.
Current consumption is about 180uA on average.
Battery is a 1.5V silver oxide battery.
BTW, do not attempt to stick anything like this in your nose, like Arni did. :-)

Ok. Now put another directional uhf RX antenna on a pan and tilt mount with diversity rssi to Arduino. and add a bracket for a separate video RX and antenna and you have a pnp UAV tracker. Hot market for this. Just add the UHF TX to your UAV and you have much improved video reception.

Whats the maximum range?

Depends on the quality of the receiver and antenna. As far as I remember I couldn't get out more than 400m

I am confused by when you mention weight and size.. it sounds as if the bigger the object you attach the UHF transmitter to the more clearly you get a signal too?

Israel Harris No. The object needs to be big enough to see it from a few meters distance. The problem with the attenuators I used is that they don't attenuate enough, so once you get within a distance of a few meters of the transmitter you can't determine a direction anymore. I guess attenuating the signal even more would work once near the transmitter but I didn't investigate this any further.

I'm vary confused by this.. but I am not knowledgeable in electronics.. I was able to find this though your instructable page since I can on it by pure coincidence. you might actually see my questions on it under the name cheesedog. I'm actually interested in using this as I did describe there.

I don't sell them. The circuit could be made 100% waterproof, this here is not

Interesting but your phone screen is not visible nor the beep audible.

Shane Bekker I do hear the beep but I agree with the screen, it's the damn snow

Is that a 1.55V or 3V cell in transmitter?

Unfortunately I have a patent on this product, guess I’ll have to forward to patent attorney again
