The strings rumbling and life flowing on, the promise of a new day of adventures as the moon goes west and the sun prepares an ascend. -Inspired by my meditation while the first three tracks rolled by…🌀🎧🕯️🌊🕊️So beautiful!! And lush.
Love this! It has a similar vibe to the Elden Ring ambient tracks when going around the world. Always loved how it made me feel, it really fits the beautiful but terrible world, and this does exactly the same!
Who am I to judge it? This is outstanding, Jay. A lesson for people like me, wanting to get lots of gear for just be inspired by machines, where the real and deep inspiration grows from these simple setups and natural environments. Congratulations.
Good evening Jay! Thank you for this amazing music 🎶. Super well played and presented. I hope everything is going well in Your world 🌎. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Maybe I missed it in your description of the album's components, but I am curious what it was recorded on. I probably couldn't afford whatever it is, but I've recently been interested in recording things like this outside, so I'm curious. (I've really just been playing around with a korg volca fm2, but I'm considering expanding the scope of what I'm doing a bit/improving its quality.)
@@brentwadden_ Battery is shown on screen in the first couple of minutes of the video. Krisdonia something or other. It was awesome, although my body tired before the battery did.
Can you give me a couple clues here… 1. Is this generative or did you use a keyboard or something we can’t see in the video? 2. Did you import an audio track into the rack before you started patching and twisting knobs? 3. Please give me a guesstimate on the build cost of your amazing little Eurorack here… 4. Am I correct to assume you only used a DAW for EQ without adding multitracking or many effects? This is amazing and makes me want to produce an album after building my own sound creature rack …. And finally… fantastic album and RU-vid channel…. You obviously know what you are doing… please give me any info you can … I’m just getting started with Eurorack and am a visual artist interested in building a compact rack that can produce generative and interactive sounds to bridge art, science and music… Eurorack should come with a warning label… its expensive and becomes obsessive… the learning curve is ridiculous and I’m going to have to fly a cardboard sign for funding “need money for modular synthesis, anything helps”
Hey thanks! I've got another album finished, designed in the same way and performed in the forest, and I'll be posting it in the coming weeks. I've been considering also posting a video on how the album is made, front to back, but I'm not sure yet if it'll only be on my Patreon or whether it will be a public video. For now I can give you some short answers: 1. This is not generative, and I didn't use a keyboard or anything out of the frame of the shot. The module on the farthest left is a sample player, and it's playing long samples that I've made in advance. 2. Yes, there are long samples loaded into the 4ms Sampler on the left, and most of the performance is altering the sample with effects like filter, granular, and reverb. 3. I'm not sure and I don't have capacity to handle this one at the moment, but all of these modules and the skiff and the battery can be priced online. Most I bought used. 4. The DAW was only used for mastering, yes, which included EQ, compression, and mastering, and a bit of noise reduction when the case noise was distracting. 5. Starting with something like VCV Rack, which is completely free, allows you to try out modules and designs before you spend a dollar on the eurorack itself. I highly recommend it. And thanks again! I really appreciate hearing it was inspiring. All the best!
@@JayHosking thank you for your thourough and quick reply! I shared this online and enjoyed every minute of it. This can’t really be called a hobby. It’s an obsession lol

Oh my god, wow !! What a slap ! 😍 Absolutely beautiful, great art, genius, it's not simply a modular performance there we are beyond, it's a museum work ! 💪 Truly incredible I don't know what else to say, I have tears in my eyes, it's just magnificent ! THANK YOU JAY ❤🙏
