Low water fishing at Twin Valley

In this episode Sean heads out to try some morning fishing at Twin Valley. The water levels were extremely low, and there was some high winds forecast throughout the day. Did it affect the fishing?

Crazy low water! I agree with your guess that the beaten up fish was hit by a boat prop. You certainly found the fish despite the water levels. Great video Sean!

It can, but it also makes the possibility of winter kill a lot higher

Love twin valley. Crazy how low it is considering it was so high you couldn't shore fish in the spring. Was there yesterday got a 6 pound pike from shore. May go back tomorrow. Dreading the winter ice! Thanks for the content!!

Another great day of pike fishing Sean! The low water levels don't seem to be bothering the fish at all but boy it is incredible just how low it is. Tight lines!

Funny thing!! That pike jerk bait is the hook I have had my most luck with the few times I fished Eagle Lake!! 😂😂😂. It caught me a 42” pike and a bunch of walleyes. Gotta try it the next time you go there!! It’s a Rapala! I changed my mind on the injured fish. I agree with the prop strike. Nice day!! Keep on slaying em!! 😊

Tons of action! 9 pike is a good day, Sean. 28” was a real nice one. The one with a chunk missing from him looked like a train wreck. 😂 Crazy how low that water was. Cool that you found a lure. I’d be doing the same thing.

Walleye in Twin? must not be very many - I have never seen one in summer or winter (even on the underwater camera)

Is the water that low because of lack of rain or do they draw the reservoir down in the fall ? Here in NH they draw down a lot of the lakes that have dams on them so people can pull their docks before freeze up but that doesn’t look like the case there, didn’t see a sale cock other that at the ramp. Good find on the jerk bait but a great day for the Pike on the Catch em Big lures with a couple of big ones and one for the table.

They draw down for irrigation, but never that far. We are having a drought in Alberta and really need some rain/snow. The biggest concern with the low water levels is the higher potential for winter kill of the fish due to low oxygen levels. Hopefully they fill up a bit before the freeze

That caught'em big lure. It sure works amazing. I used it last weekend and got 13 pike, and this Friday got another 5 until I lost it. Pike rip the leader. Water maybe is low because the wild fires? For hauling for it ? 🤷‍♂️

They do draw down for irrigation, but the drought has been very bad. Lots of concern about possibility of winter kill

holy it that lake is low its probably that bad on the west side were you come in from parkland if i remember thatstownship road 152 thats were we come in to go ice fishing.

man, sucks to see water level to go this low. I'm a believer that this is all caused by global warming. anyway, good to see you were able to get some fish in tough conditions like this. I am not good when there is strong wind like that.

Don’t use those lip grippers mate their teeth already come out with the hooks and then even more come out when u use those things

I try not to use them, but handling pike in a kayak can be hard if they have taken a hook deep. There is a lot of debate about grips, but fish handling is just as important. I see a lot of people who complain about grips letting their fish stay out of the water too long or let them flop around in the dirt on the bank.
