For those not quite understanding the video, this is what I interpreted from the scene... Drug Dealer and/or Hitman (tattooed dude) sat waiting in gang hideout/club for boss to confront him. Guy has obviously screwed up or not done something he should do or was ordered to, ie. make a call to one of two contacts using either phone and setting a trap, deal or hit in motion via the boss' request. But his phone he is withholding from his Boss, looks like he's trying to set up a trade-off or an ultimatum. Boss (guy with beard and long hair) comes in, places a drink with cyanide in it in-front of him (unaware that his choices were fatal for him, regardless of his choice as the drink was laced) before giving him the option again with the two phones on the table and wants him to make a choice (possibly one phone for the other phone?). He can't choose and tells the head honcho "No, I can't do this. I'm out." to which the boss takes back his phone and walks away while he finishes his drink. The scene ends with everyone in the club knowing the guy was already dead and somewhat uneasy waiting for the inevitable, he crashes to the floor and one of the Boss's girls takes the other phone back to the boss. Meanwhile, Lower play this banging track over the whole episode on-stage... That's just what I see it as, I love videos that are left open to interpretation. Well done Ben Roe! Really nice cinematography and concept!
This song came out a few days before Results day in England and i thought the song was about working for your GCSE/A-Level results and stuff. But now the video has kinda confused me.
Harvey Da Beast hell yeah it was! Considering I am a new fan and discovered them way too late for my liking, I was so thrilled to see them after the concert at the merch-stand...I even got their autograph on my poster :)
This is your wake up call Your chance to change it all No hope that you change it You hear alarm bells sound It's time to turn it round I'm trying to save you You say that it's all you got When you know it's not Your fingers are crossed 4 leaf clover for luck if Hard work pays off I guess that you're broke Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it I don't mean to offend I say this as a friend Something is missing I want to make this clear Something you need to hear Why won't you listen? Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Work for it You say that it's all you got When you know it's not Your fingers are crossed 4 leaf clover for luck if Hard work pays off I guess that you're broke You say that you gave it a shot But your goal wasn't cut The door has shut Got no keys to unlock 'cause You get what you give And you ain't got shit Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Woah oh, you know, you gotta work for it Work for it
the video doesn't capture the viewer's interest- it's boring, slow, dull, the actual band show no stage presence whatsoever. the song is great but the video is crap
