In case you're wondering, sorry everyone this is a re-upload of our last episode. Unfortunately there was an issue with that episode that i needed to edit out and re-upload. Apologies if you get spammed by notifications! Don't worry, there's also a proper new episode on Violet Crumbles that will be out later today. 👍👍👍

Excellent working methods in the video, that man! Great guide overall, loved it! FYI, if you live in the UK (or anywhere that has regular crappy weather), strut top nuts and drop link nuts can be total bishes! (On-purpose spelling error for the more sensitive types - the sarcasm is also free, you’re welcome). Was interesting, but not surprising, to see that everything here was more or less identical to my 2019 F21 M140i.

Love the M140 - i have a F20 125i currently as a a daily and have thought about upgrading to the 140 just to get something that's practical but still has a B58. 👍

Same Eibach springs user here! Super satisfied. And I swear this is the most detailed spring change video on the RU-vid, subscribed and hope to see more stuff!

Haha - yeah I got sick of watching videos that had big gaps and tried to do something that most people could follow start to finish. Hopefully more to come soon once I get some work on the other car finished and get the garage back. Thanks for watching! 👍👍👍

Hey Man! Just used this as a guide to install H&R spring and 11mm front and 14mm read spacers. Couldn't have done it without your video. Very much appreciated! Note: i have a 2022 and some of the linkage bolts are actually a different size than you state. Also those read bolts are a major pain to get back in!

how low is the ride height after springs btw?
@edwardmottern644
@edwardmottern644 Год назад
@Scrubbles : ゼロ rear 26 3/4" and front 26 1/8" both from ground to center of fender lip. Roughly 2/3" gap rear and 3/4" gap front

Yep - had big plans to mark out height with tape and then show it done but got excited and forgot about it - safe to say it dropped 20mm as it said on the box - very happy with them.

the aluminum screws in the chassis area are expansion screws and must therefore be renewed after they have been loosened. They should also be tightened with the appropriate torque.

Awesome! I didn't realise they put one in there, guess I'm used to being left out in the cold by BMW on my previous cars. Thanks for the tip!💯

Question for people who lower their cars. Where can you take your car? What i mean is can you enter parking lots, or go over speed bumps, stuff like that. It looks really cool, but seems like it would make the car a pain to take anywhere.
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom 2 года назад
Mine went everywhere with issue, because I deliberately chose springs that weren't too low. I've gone much lower in the past as a kid, when I had a bigger tolerance for a horrible driving car just to make it look goodd

Great video. What front license plate holder are you using?
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom Год назад
Thanks - the number plate holder is the Perrin plate relocation kit that bolts into the tow hook spot. It took a bit of trimming and some light bending by hand to get it to fit the slimline plate to the contours of the bumper, but was great after that.

Awesome video, really well done. One question, I’m a little confused, do you actually need the pass through socket and hex wrench to loosen the nut on the top hat, or do you just need the impact wrench?
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom 2 года назад
It probably depends on the condition of the car, mine came out pretty easy as it only had 5000kms on it when I filmed the episode. I did need it when I did the bolts back up however, so if you're only doing a single job I'd just stick some vice grips on a socket. Put some tape on the socket first if you want to minimise damage to the chrome on the socket sides.

@@TheBuildRoom Thanks !
@edwardmottern644

Mine had 3K miles and only needed the impact to take off but needed the pass though when reinstalling on the drivers side. Pass went right on.

@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom 2 года назад
Hard to say because everything takes a lot longer when you're filming it - but I'd say if you have the same tools and your working without a lift etc the its something you can do in an afternoon.

Nice Supra!! Your next tool purchase should be a proper torque wrench. Assembling critical suspension and wheel components should not be done with an impact driver or a breaker bar. Peace
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom 2 года назад
Does it count if there's a torque wrench in my toolbox - will that calibrate my impact gun? You're right tho - i definitely should have looked up the torque specs and used it - thanks for watching!

Not sure man, didn't capture all the bolt sizes - its an E-something tho not a traditional torx.

@@TheBuildRoom I got the same size spacers same, GTS rims and 35 profile tyres, H&R springs. You experiecing any tyre rub or steering clearance?
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom Год назад
@@slamtheman None at all - not even when heavy cornering during some laps on a track here in WA. There are two different height H&R springs however, so if you're experiencing rubbing that may be it. IMO for daily driving this is pretty much the perfect setup for an A90.
@slamtheman
@slamtheman Год назад
@@TheBuildRoom I didn’t see any different sizes when I bought them. I was just shocked how much clearance there isn’t ha ha literally two fingers. Plus with the same size spacers as you 15/18mm was interested in your experience. Just fitted so no rubbing yet but they haven’t settled yet. Expensive tyres to replace too haha

The euro versions of the A90 springs have a shorter drop. US versions are the 1.7"/1.2".

Don’t you have to cut that rubber bottom part
@TheBuildRoom
@TheBuildRoom 2 года назад
Do you mean the bump stops? If so then it depends on which springs you have - mine didn't require it but some others with different spring rates or bigger drops do require either cutting the bump stops or actually supplying them in the kits. Mine drives great, so far haven't experienced anything to make me think its hitting the stops, if it does i might trim them but only about 15mm max.
