Let's take a look at the lowest prices of the season on select yarns at Joann's. It's always nice to save money!! If you enjoyed this video please LIKE and Subscribe. Happy Crocheting Everyone!!!
I enjoyed your trip to Joann's. I haven't been yarn shopping in a long time. Being on SSI my income has not kept up with inflation. Seeing the prices of yarn takes my breath away. It's a good thing I have a stash of yarn. Right now I'm using up my scraps to make granny's. It's my throw of many colors. Thanks for the video!😊✌
I'm in the same boat. I was lucky lately though as my son gave me $50 for yarn for my birthday. Even with budget yarn & the best sale that I could find at Joann it didn't go as far as I'd like.
I'm right there with you! 70 yrs old and on SSI leaves me no $ for yarn anymore, sadly. However, I've established a large yarn stash that enables me to "yarn shop" in my stash! Often I come across some skeins or cakes I completely forgot I'd bought!!!😘 It's a shame yarn prices are so high now.
I just love field trips with y’all!!!! I can’t believe all of the empty fabric shelves. That’s sad. They are having an excellent yarn sale. I have got to quit ordering offline and go into the store. Thanks for taking us along.
Hi, Glenda & Cody. Thanks for taking us on your field trip to Joanns. I don't have any Joanns anywhere near me :( It is amazing to me how Granny Squares have made such a comeback. My sisters & I learned how to crochet making Granny Squares in the late 1960's & we must have made thousands of them all totaled! Now, they are everywhere it seems. It strikes me funny😄
I was intrigued by the granny square yarn until I watched quite a few videos where it was difficult to get it to come out right. But I bought every color they made and used them in scarves and hats for donations. It made some interesting patterns depending on the stitch. It worked better making it side to side than end to end.
Hi Glenda, I enjoyed watching you and Cody going through the aisles of your Joann's store. Lots of beautiful yarn to see and talk about. I'm anxious to see your Homespun blanket, I made two Homespun blankets years ago for Christmas gifts, I would like to make more.
I love the Red Heart all in one granny square yarn. I knit hats with it and I will be using my Addi King size knitting machine to make scarves to go with the hats. I love the striping without changing colors.❤
I love that you and Cody are shopping together! I absolutely love the Colorama Halo for afghans - I've made 2 of them and they are so soft and cuddly! One of them is a from the middle moss stitch in green, and I start from the middle on the first cake and then the next one I start from the outside, and then the third one I start in the middle again. The other one is a sedge stitch in Nutmeg and on that one I always started from the middle and it has the stripe effect.
Wow you have some good yarn on sale there. I never see hooks on sale either. I use my 50 or 40% off coupon for that. Yes those peaches and cream yarn used to be .99 When I started crochet and knitting
The roller bags are convenient, tend yo be expensive . They have had them on sale periodically, not sure how frequently they will be on sale in the future. Makes taking a sewing machine on trips easier.
Love your video's!! Just letting you know, I made a beautiful blanket using a similar yarn to the Caron Colorado halo, and I started the first cake from the center, 2nd from the outside, 3rd from the center and the last from the outside, turned out awesome, it was teal and white and my mother claimed it! Lol
I wonder the same thing about the stark contrast roll. I don't want to have to figure out where the best blend would be and cut up skeins of yarn. That's not crochet comfort in my book. As far as the granny square yarn, there are other uses for it. I plan on trying a few, as the yarn itself becomes more affordable. Thanks for the walk through. Anything to help keep Joann's open.
Hi Glenda and Corey! I am sure it is always great to spend time together. I just placed an online order of Big Twist yarns. Waited for the 25% plus $2.99 shiping email. 😉 Thanks for the idea! 💡 🫶
