I do believe that is because it is a 1.9l Tdi Pumpe Duse motor out of a mk4.5 which is a diesel and came from the factory with about 110hp and I think 260 ft/lb but I could be wrong, however that's what it looks like from what little I see of the motor, I'm currently building a 1980 4 door rabbit with a 1.9l ALH swap. it is a more common thing to swap into them if you want a new diesel in one that could have had a diesel in it, like mine did.
