One key is to set the Instance so that they are not the same. Have one on 0 and the other on 1.

One key would be to sell the unnecessary Point-1 so you don't have to uniquely name two of them.

Greetings and thank you for the video… I am a little confused about something though… So if we have two pucks, one at the bow and one at the transom area of the boat, I want to mark the brushpile based on the back transducer/GPS, then go up front to the bow and mark the same brush pile on that different transducer/GPS which is about 18 to 20 feet difference, won’t you be off of the brush pile by about 18 to 20 feet up there at the front on the bow?? Or is it because you have to then choose the front GPS/transducer, it alleviates you missing the brush point mark? (In other words, you can’t run the front and back GPS Point 1s on just the back transducer or just the front transducer or one of the HDS Units’ way point will be off by about 20 feet correct??)

@@TheSilverSurfisher Yes. Remember the GPS (WAYPOINT) location is either on the actual unit by default or at the location of the Point1 (if selected like I've shown). While idling around the lake ideally you'd want that GPS information to be as close to your transducer that is reading information (not 21 feet away). Those coordinates will transfer to the bow unit and having 2 point-1 ant will allow you to go to those coordinates now based off of the point one on the bow where you're fishing and not 21 feet away. Hope this helps.

No, you didn't help. You're selling excess Point-1 antennas for no reason! I can't imagine a reason in the world to have TWO Point-1 antennas on a small boat. it connects to the NMEA network, so its data is available to all units. Under Vessels on each MFD, select the compass as the magnetic source, and make sure the scope is "global." This setting is for MAGNETIC field sensing only.. It stops map spin and keeps vessel icon orientation correct. On the console MFD, select Point-1 as the GPS source. If I recall correctly, that unit will need a global source setting. On the bow unit, make the GPS setting "local" and make sure "local" is the source. This results in waypoints for the console being oriented at the Point-1 and waypoints recorded at the bow MFD being oriented to the bow's MFD. No unnecessary Point-1 at the bow is required, and you'll still get the results you discuss in your video.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm not selling anything. Only trying to help. I have two point1s for a reason. The HDS is capable of multiple transducers,, and multiple antenna sources. 20 feet is a big difference when trying to find a spot on a spot.. With that said...The point1 in the back of the boat is syncd to the console unit's transducer which located at the transom near the rear point 1. My other point 1 is located at the bow by my TM transducer. If I'm idling and spot something on my rear transducer and want to mark it, I want that way point to mark it exactly, from that location. Same thing if I see something while I'm fishing on my TM and mark a way point I want to mark that spot from that transducer. The HDS is complex, but for a reason. Take time to understand it and it may help you out.
