How is the quality of the side imaging compared to the HDS series? cant you take it out of the shop and show it live on the water insted of the demo? ;) /best regards Mats

Hi Moose, you mentioned it has a version of chirp, which confused me a little. I'm after a chirp unit for better target separation. Can you provide some commentary about how this unit provides chirp?

Because of the transducer. The Elite TI2 units with the 3 in 1 active imaging are even better.

CHIRP cannot be used when downscan or sidescan are turned on. Definitely a huge issue for me considering the high price tag and the fact that cheaper units allow CHIRP to be used in conjunction with downscan. Downscan data can be overlaid onto regular sonar data though, but I'm not sure if this makes it roughly equivalent to using CHIRP or not. Any experts want to chime in? I would love to know because this issue is really bothering me!

Is this the Down scan model or the Total scan model?

so this unit has 200khz, 83khz and 50khz side imaging and downscan imaging and if so how is the 50khz sonar work on this unit as i fish the great lakes deep water 300ft+ range? also how far out to the side does it go for the side imaging?

+moose marine thank you moose for the quick response and great info I was thinking about getting the hds series but I think I will get all I need out of this unit for half the cost

+moose marine I'm back again I see it's possible to hook up a tablet or cell phone to the lowrance ti and view the screen. My question is, is it like the hds models where I can control the unit from the tablet or cell phone?
