Great review sir, so please don’t take this comment negatively. I also own a Ghost and I spotted a small mistake in your review. The button on the trolling tab of the sounder that you referred to as a “pause button” is not a pause. That button puts the trolling motor in a speed over ground mode instead of power percentage mode. This mode is AWESOME for trolling. Probably totally useless for bass fishing and why you didn’t understand it. Nevertheless, once you press that button you can set an actual speed and the motor will adjust the power to achieve the set speed. It works great. I use it to slow troll live bait with planer boards and to pull A-rigs. This option is available while in course lock and while navigating a route. Sorry to correct you but wanted to help. @@charleswest1 as I want to learn also. That's why I watch good reviews of products I already own. When you activate the speed mode you will notice that the speed is initially set really low, like .1 or .2 mph or equivalent. That's why it seems to be a pause. There will be a +/- on the tab to adjust the speed, and you can adjust the speed with the remote. Best of luck to you sir!

Just a thought about the buttons on the foot pedal. There and one two and three dots and then one key with an anchor symbol. It would be pretty cool if the motor came with extra "keys" with different symbols on them. You have an anchor symbol, a waypoint symbol, course lock, heading lock symbol etc. So when you assign a key to, say, waypoint, you could pop off the key with two dots and click on your key with the waypoint symbol painted on it. Then there is no need to memorise what keys are assigned to what, you just clip on the key with the right symbol.
